Responsibilities

As a Test Engineer II here at Honeywell Aerospace Technologies, you will support production, customer service, and developmental programs by maintaining, troubleshooting, improving, and expanding test equipment and test stations. This role requires strong hands-on problem-solving skills, effective collaboration across engineering and production teams, and the ability to develop creative solutions that keep critical test operations running reliably.

In this role, you will play a key role as part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting for both hardware and software engineering, contributing to essential projects that drive the future of aerospace Navigation, Inertial Sensing and hardware systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain legacy Surface test stations, using creative and practical solutions to ensure equipment remains operational and supports the product line.
  • Set up and improve vibration display board systems so technicians can control multiple test stations from a central location. Support improvements that allow stations to be moved into adjacent work areas while optimizing available space.
  • Restore and maintain legacy simulators to provide a reliable production backup and eliminate single points of failure. Coordinate with engineering to protect development activities when production equipment requires support.
  • Support the Customer Service Center by ensuring test equipment is functioning properly and answering questions regarding the correct methods for testing Return Goods (RGs).
  • Support developmental programs and collaborate with the PR Software Team to troubleshoot issues, brainstorm solutions, and implement effective fixes. 
  • Upgrade Test Stations to newer Windows Versions. .
  • Perform general troubleshooting of units, test stations, and rate tables in response to production and engineering support needs.
  • Assist with calibration tracking and develop processes that improve equipment visibility, readiness, and long-term maintainability.
  • Document troubleshooting activities, equipment modifications, test results, and recommended corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with technicians, software engineers, production personnel, and other engineering teams to resolve test-related issues efficiently.
     
Qualifications

Required Qualifications
•    Experience troubleshooting production test equipment, test stations, simulators, or related electronic systems.
•    Ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop practical, reliable solutions.
•    Experience supporting cross-functional teams and communicating technical information clearly to engineers and technicians.
•    Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple support requests, and follow issues through to resolution.
•    Strong documentation, organization, and problem-solving skills.
 

Preferred Qualifications
•    Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
•    Experience with legacy equipment modernization, hardware retrofits, or operating system migrations.
•    Experience supporting vibration testing, simulators, production test systems, or automated test equipment.
•    Knowledge of calibration tracking and equipment-control processes.
•    ESD certification or related training; completion of an iNARTE ESD Monitor course is preferred.
•    Experience working with defense, aerospace, or other highly regulated production environments.

Work Environment
The Test Engineer II works closely with production, customer service, software, and engineering personnel to maintain test readiness and minimize interruptions to critical operations. The role may require hands-on work with electronic equipment, test stations, simulators, and related production systems.
