T-Rex Solutions is looking to select a Test Automation Engineer to support our Internal Revenue Service (IRS) EDOS program. The overall mission of this program is to modernize the IRS legacy Tax processing systems and is critical to the overall modernization of the IRS to improve taxpayer experience, increase voluntary compliance, and reduce the IRS’s reliance on costly and unsustainable legacy technology. This role will drive the quality and efficiency of the software development lifecycle by designing, developing, and owning the comprehensive test automation strategy

Responsibilities:

  • Architect, implement, and maintain robust automation frameworks using Playwright, while also executing the automated test suites. This role requires a hybrid professional with a deep understanding of both manual and automated testing.
  • Leverage expertise in functional testing to ensure complete test coverage and a holistic understanding of the application.
  • Lead the planning and execution of automation scripts for continuous testing of regression suites.
  • Mentor junior team members, participates in code reviews, and drives continuous improvement in the end-to-end testing process by monitoring, reporting, and analyzing defects. 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in progress and 2+ years of overall experience
  • US Citizenship required
  • Must possess an active IRS MBI Clearance and have current GFE
  • Demonstrable experience with test management, quality engineering strategy and planning and test execution and management
  • Experience with various forms of testing such as: Functional, Manual, Regression, Automation, 508 and API testing
  • Experience with JIRA/Confluence, SQL, Git
  • Agile/Scrum experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with client stakeholders at all organizational and technical levels
  • Prior experience working on Agile teams

In compliance with pay transparency guidelines, the annual base salary range for this position is $70,000 - $93,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. T-Rex considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
