Job Description Summary:

Fenwick is seeking a Temporary Senior Marketing Events Coordinator to lead and support a wide range of internal and external events, including branded programs, webinars, CLEs, sponsorships, client engagement events, retreats, and practice group events. This role plays a key part in advancing the firm's strategic initiatives, including diversity, alumni relations, and business development, by delivering high-impact, well-executed events that build the firm's brand and strengthen client relationships.
This role works cross-functionally with Marketing, Recruiting, Diversity & Inclusion, and other teams to support firmwide goals around business development, talent recruitment, and client engagement.
This position is based out of our Mountain View, CA office. Employees are expected to attend in-person meetings, events, and professional development sessions as needed. Some travel is required. The estimated duration of the temporary assignment is 6 months, with the possibility of extension.

Job Description:

Event Planning & Execution

  • Lead and support event planning from concept to completion: invitation strategy and creation, promotion, budget, vendor coordination, logistics, on-site execution, and post-event follow-up, and ROI analysis.
  • Ensure events are delivered on time, on brand, and within budget.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to existing programs and help develop new event strategies to boost engagement and efficiency.
  • Onsite support both in-office and onsite events as needed.

Client Engagement

  • Partner business development and attorneys to plan and execute client appreciation and relationship-building events.
  • Support the team with budget tracking, ROI reporting, and strategic alignment for client-hosted events (sporting events, client dinners, VIP experiences, etc.).

AI & Process Improvement

  • Help identify opportunities to streamline event and marketing workflows using AI tools.
  • Support the team in adopting AI platforms like Claude and Writer.

Team & Budget Support

  • Support the broader team with budget oversight, including invoice processing and vendor management.
  • Participate in team-wide initiatives and special projects as assigned.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience managing complex projects and collaborating with senior leaders.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines under pressure.
  • Proven track record in vendor negotiation and contract management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience with marketing/event platforms such as Salesforce, Marketo, Splash, ClickUp, and other event management tools.
  • Experience with AI platforms such as Claude and Writer.
  • Collaborative mindset with a client-service orientation.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and highly organized.
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong judgment, professionalism, and sense of discretion.
  • Willingness to travel and support evening/weekend events as needed.

Reporting to the Events Manager, the qualified candidate will have 3-5 years of event planning or marketing experience in a fast-paced professional services environment; law firm experience a plus. Bachelor's degree required (Marketing, Communications, Business, Hospitality Management, or related field preferred).

The anticipated range for this position is:

$76,000 - $107,500

Depending on the role, the actual base salary offered may depend upon a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.

A discretionary bonus for eligible employees may also be available based on performance.  Additional information about employee eligibility for benefits and discretionary bonus will be made available upon request.
