Overview
We are looking for a Systems Engineer to join the Market Securities IT Department.
You'll have responsibility for setting up, developing and maintaining the global networks within
the organisation and between offices and different locations. You'll be involved in designing new
networks and implementation.
Your aim is to ensure the integrity of high availability network infrastructure to provide
maximum performance for your users and the global infrastructure, which will include but is not
limited to:
• Routers
• Switches
• Gateways
• Firewalls
• Security
• VPN
• Appliances
Key Responsibilities
• Plan, design and implement functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN)
• Configure and install software, servers, routers and other network devices
• Monitor network performance and integrity
• Resolve issues that have been escalated, by troubleshooting cloud/third party providers
and local infrastructure
• Automate tasks and monitor effectiveness
• Mentor team members and give advice on technical issues
• Create, oversee and test security measures (e.g. access authentication and disaster
recovery)
• Communicate with users when required.
• Maintain complete technical documentation
• Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity and scalability
• Project management
Requirements
• Proven hands-on network engineering experience (Palo Alto)
• CCNP or higher (CCIE and/or CISSP would be desirable)
• Excellent knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, QoS,
ToS, MPLS, WSD)
• Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model, WAN infrastructure and management
of Layer 2
• Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytic tools
• Ability to sustain a high level of drive, enthusiasm and a positive attitude when coping
with pressure at work
• Works in a cooperative, respectful manner with colleagues and clients
• Strong communicator (verbal and written)
• Able to work in a team environment and under pressurised timelines
• Excellent attention to detail and someone who will look to improve processes where
relevant
• Degree or training in Computer Science or a related subject is highly desirable
