Role Description

Core Banking Platforms – APSYS

We are looking for a Reporting Engineer to develop, maintain, and support reporting solutions within the Private Banking domain. The role covers two distinct reporting platforms:

  • A primary platform based on Microsoft Access, VBA and C#, dedicated to complex, highly customized reports

  • A secondary platform based on BusinessObjects, Crystal Reports, Oracle and Java, used for high volume reporting

The position involves extensive work on complex MS Access reports, advanced VBA development, and SQL querying, with strong involvement in customer support.

The reports support key private banking activities such as portfolio valuations, account statements, and performance reporting, with strong expectations regarding data accuracy, reliability, and testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain complex Microsoft Access reports and Crystal Reports used in private banking

  • Develop and maintain extensive VBA and Java code supporting business logic, calculations, and report automation

  • Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries for financial and portfolio data extraction

  • Design, develop, and maintain applications using C# and Java

·        Produce and maintain reports such as:

    • Portfolio valuation reports

    • Account statements

    • Performance and return reports

  • Analyze, investigate, and resolve customer issues through JIRA tickets

  • Provide second- and third-level support for reporting-related incidents and service requests

  • Interact directly with business users (private bankers, operations, support teams) to clarify requirements and explain technical outcomes

  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of financial and performance data presented in reports

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of reporting tools and support processes

  • Microsoft Access (advanced usage, strong focus on complex Reports)

  • SQL (advanced querying, performance optimization)

  • SAP Crystal Reports and BusinessObjects

  • VBA (Visual Basic for Applications in MS Access and Word) – advanced level

Profile & Qualifications
  • Proven experience in developing and maintaining complex reporting solutions, ideally in a banking or financial services environment

  • Strong autonomy in support activities and technical investigation

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • High attention to detail, especially when working with financial and performance data

  • Strong testing skills, including the ability to design and execute test cases to ensure accuracy and reliability of complex reports.

  • Strong sense of ownership and responsibility

Required Soft Skills (Critical)

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to quickly identify root causes in complex reporting issues

  • High level of autonomy and ownership, capable of handling JIRA tickets and support requests independently

  • Excellent attention to detail, especially when working with financial, portfolio, and performance data

  • Customer‑oriented mindset, with a strong focus on service quality and pragmatic solutions

  • Predictable execution: delivers stable solutions that can be reused and maintained.
