In this role

You will manage a portfolio of technology support service contracts, driving renewals, identifying new business opportunities, and helping education and nonprofit customers maximize the value of their technology investments. This role requires an independent, results-driven sales professional who can manage a book of business, build customer relationships, negotiate contract terms, address objections, and drive deals to closure. You will partner with account managers, customer success professionals, and internal sales support teams to develop sales strategies, maintain accurate forecasts, and achieve renewal and revenue goals. The ideal candidate brings technology sales or account management experience and fluency in both Japanese and Mandarin.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of customer accounts, owning the end-to-end sales process for service renewals and new contract opportunities.

  • Drive on-time renewals, improve renewal rates, and recapture previously lost or at-risk business.

  • Identify opportunities to expand existing customer relationships and generate incremental revenue through technology support services.

  • Engage directly with customers to understand business needs, address objections, discuss contract structures, and negotiate commercial terms.

  • Partner with account managers, customer success professionals, and internal deal support teams to develop proposals, scope services, and advance opportunities.

  • Maintain an accurate sales pipeline, update forecast commentary, track deal progress, and communicate risks and opportunities to management.

  • Develop and execute account and portfolio strategies to prioritize high-potential opportunities and achieve sales targets.

  • Build relationships with customer stakeholders, including decision-makers and influencers, to understand business priorities and support purchasing decisions.

  • Communicate the business value of technology support services and align proposed solutions with customer objectives.

  • Develop and execute close plans, coordinate stakeholder engagement, and proactively resolve blockers to move deals toward completion.

  • Analyze account performance, customer feedback, and portfolio opportunities to improve customer satisfaction and sales outcomes.

  • Collaborate with sales, services, and marketing partners to identify customer needs, strengthen the sales pipeline, and support long-term account growth.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, Marketing, or a related field.

  • At least 3 years of technology-related sales or account management experience.

  • At least 3 years of solution sales or consulting services sales experience.

  • Fluency in both Japanese and Mandarin, with strong written and verbal communication skills in a customer-facing environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage customer accounts independently and drive opportunities through the full sales cycle.

  • Experience handling customer objections, discussing commercial terms, and supporting contract negotiations.

  • Strong customer relationship management, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple active opportunities, prioritize competing deadlines, and maintain accurate pipeline and sales forecasts.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify sales opportunities and recommend actions to overcome obstacles.

  • Ability to work remotely while collaborating effectively with account teams and internal stakeholders.

  • Must be located on the U.S. West Coast and able to work within established business hours.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience selling technology support services, enterprise support agreements, or consulting services.

  • Experience managing contract renewals, renewal negotiations, and customer retention or recapture initiatives.

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, enterprise software, and business technology solutions.

  • Experience supporting education, nonprofit, or other mission-driven organizations.

  • Experience managing a defined book of business and developing account or territory plans.

  • Demonstrated success meeting renewal, revenue, or customer retention targets, supported by measurable results.

  • Experience with sales forecasting, pipeline management, account planning, and opportunity qualification.

  • Experience partnering with account executives, customer success teams, and deal desk or commercial operations teams.

  • Familiarity with structured enterprise sales methodologies and complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles.

Must be fluent in Japanese and Mandarin

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
