The Opportunity

The Staff/Senior Staff Product Manager for AI will be responsible for defining, developing, and managing artificial intelligence products within Sonatus’s automotive software ecosystem. In this role, you will drive the strategy, execution, and go-to-market plans for innovative AI-driven solutions designed to enhance vehicle capabilities and user experiences. The role requires deep familiarity with AI technologies, machine learning frameworks, product lifecycle management, and cross-functional collaboration to transform complex AI concepts into scalable automotive software solutions.

The ideal candidate is an experienced product management professional passionate about leveraging AI technology to create impactful automotive solutions. You will effectively translate customer needs, market insights, and technological advancements into compelling and executable product strategies.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Define product vision, strategy, and roadmap for AI-driven automotive software solutions, aligning closely with business goals and market opportunities. 
  • Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and customer feedback sessions to continuously refine product offerings. 
  • Develop detailed product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to clearly articulate the product vision to development teams.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams to deliver high-quality products on schedule. 
  • Prioritize and maintain the product backlog, balancing short-term needs with long-term strategic goals
  • Manage product lifecycle from ideation and development through launch and iterative enhancements.. 
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure technical feasibility, scalability, and compliance with automotive industry standards. 
  • Track product performance metrics, analyze data insights, and drive continuous improvement efforts based on user feedback and business outcomes. 
  • Communicate product strategies, roadmaps, and progress to internal stakeholders, customers, and executive leadership.
  • Monitor trade press, academic research and news outlets to stay up to date of the latest advancements in AI capabilities, techniques, and approaches

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience with at least 5+ years of experience in product management shipping automotive software, embedded systems, IoT solutions, or cloud platforms for large enterprise customers
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to articulate complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong technical foundation in AI, machine learning, NLP, conversational AI, or related areas
  • Track record leading a product through the full product lifecycle, from conception to launch and through sustaining support . 
  • Significant experience building both UX-driven and API-driven products
  • Experience working with RAG systems, agentic assistants, and both foundational LLMs and open-source language models. 
  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies, product management tools, and data-driven decision-making processes. 
  • Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills, capable of managing multiple projects in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.

The posted salary range is a general guideline and represents a good faith estimate of what Sonatus ("Company") could reasonably expect to pay for a base salary for this position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs. The Company reserves the right to modify this range in the future, as needed, as market conditions change.
