Roles and Responsibilities:

a) Act in a supporting role to aid inspector(s) in completing the tasks necessary to keep projects running smoothly. This often includes assisting with project paperwork, assisting with inspections, performing observations in the field on behalf of the inspector, reporting back to the inspector, following up on paperwork and other items with the contractor, corresponding with various personnel involved on the project, as well as other miscellaneous tasks as necessary. A basic level of construction knowledge is needed at the entry level position (Level 1) with an increased understanding of construction knowledge expected at higher Technical Support Levels. Technical Support Staff at Level 3 should have close to a Construction Inspector's I level of knowledge of construction.

b) May be assigned to work in an underground crew to assist performing underground inspections of storm drains and research and document illicit connections or be required to work in an office performing data entry, reviewing and processing permit applications, and providing customer service.
