YOUR MISSION

True Anomaly protects and defends the space domain, because our way of life depends on it. As a Technical Recruiter (Fixed Term), you’ll have a direct hand in building the teams that make this possible. You will help shape a high-growth, high-impact organization by hiring the people engineering the future of space security. You'll be on the front lines of talent acquisition, identifying and recruiting the engineers who are actively building our flagship spacecraft (Jackal), developing our advanced ground software platform (Mosaic), and creating next-generation space-based interceptors, payloads, and critical components for active programs.

We deliver space superiority so the U.S. can operate freely in orbit, blending hardware and software in a way few companies can. In this role, you will partner with deeply technical leaders, hire exceptional engineering talent, and influence processes that scale. You'll have unparalleled visibility into cutting-edge space defense technology and work directly with the engineering minds solving some of the most complex challenges in the space domain. Space is the new high ground, we’re here to keep it secure, and you’ll be building the team that gets us there. Every hire you make directly impacts our ability to deliver operational systems that are protecting U.S. interests in orbit right now.

This is a 3-6 month temporary employment engagement located in our Centennial, CO office. There is potential to convert to regular employment based on performance and business need.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the full-cycle recruiting process with a focus on strong hiring manager partnership, transparent communication, and effective candidate advocacy. Partner directly with Core Engineering leaders building real space systems for active defense programs.
  • Source and engage top talent across a wide range of technical disciplines for our Core Engineering teams. You'll recruit specialized engineers across propulsion, autonomy, flight software, avionics, among others.
  • Deliver an exemplary candidate experience from initial outreach through offer negotiation and close. Communicate how candidates will work on some of the most advanced space technology in the industry.
  • Build and nurture pipelines of exceptional passive talent to support current and future growth. Develop networks within highly specialized technical communities, from GNC specialists to space-qualified mechanical engineers.
  • Maintain high-quality ATS data and continuously drive process excellence, meeting or exceeding SLAs without compromising quality.
  • Provide consistent, accurate hiring progress updates, including executive-level reporting. Your hiring velocity directly impacts program timelines and company growth.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Security, People, and other teams on initiatives such as process optimization, reporting, interview training, university relations, and talent marketing.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, representing True Anomaly at career fairs, recruiting events, and networking opportunities. Tell the story of a company actively deploying space defense systems, not just building prototypes.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4–10 years of full-cycle recruiting experience.
  • Strong track record filling technical or engineering roles while meeting or surpassing hiring goals.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities, typically 10–20+ open roles concurrently.
  • Experience using data and insights to inform hiring decisions and guide stakeholders.
  • A demonstrated commitment to excellent service for candidates, hiring managers, and cross-functional partners.
  • Highly organized with a bias for action; comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear, concise updates.
  • Process-minded and proactive about identifying opportunities to streamline and improve.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience hiring for any of the following domains; Propulsion, Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Autonomy, ML/AI, Simulation, Flight Software, GNC, Product.
  • Experience in a high-growth technology or product-focused startup; aerospace, defense, or national security experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity hiring DoD-cleared talent (Secret or Top Secret).
  • Prior experience with Greenhouse, Gem, and/or LinkedIn Recruiter.

COMPENSATION

  • Base Salary: $105,000-$140,000

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, location, and experience.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
