UTA seeks a Senior Technical Program Manager to drive complex, cross-functional technology programs that support UTA’s rapidly evolving business. This role partners with senior stakeholders across Technology, Product, Finance, and Operations to deliver large-scale initiatives that enable efficiency, scale, and innovation across the agency. The ideal candidate combines program management discipline with strong technical fluency, thrives in ambiguous environments, and is comfortable collaborating with both engineers and executives.

The salary range for this role is $180,000 to $200,000 commensurate with experience and skills.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the planning and execution of large-scale technology programs, ensuring alignment with business goals and on-time delivery
  • Partner with engineering, product, and business teams to define scope, success criteria, and program roadmaps
  • Drive program governance, including reporting, risk tracking, and stakeholder communication
  • Identify and resolve cross-team dependencies, ensuring accountability and alignment across business units
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear business impacts for non-technical stakeholders
  • Anticipate and mitigate risks, escalating as needed while driving solutions independently
  • Define and track key program metrics to measure progress, velocity, and outcomes
  • Provide clear, executive-level communication and reporting to senior stakeholders
  • Roll up sleeves when needed—digging into technical details to remove blockers and drive progress

What You Will Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 6+ years of experience in program or project management, with a minimum of 3 years in a Technical Program Manager role
  • Solid technical background with the ability to understand system architecture, data flows, and engineering trade-offs
  • Strong track record delivering large, cross-functional initiatives within fast-paced, dynamic environments
  • Demonstrated ability to work with software engineering and product teams; experience with SDLC, Agile, and modern tooling
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and able to influence at all levels of the organization
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities and comfortable with data-driven decision making
  • Action-driven with a bias for ownership and momentum, not just coordination
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and modern data systems (Snowflake, Databricks, Kafka, etc.)
  • Ability to present to executives with clarity and confidence, tailoring technical detail to business impact
  • Exposure to AI/ML or enterprise data initiatives is preferred
  • Experience in media, entertainment, or similar fast-moving industries is preferred

What You Will Get

  • The unique and exciting opportunity to work at one of the leading global entertainment companies
  • Access to the tools, leadership, and resources you will need to create and drive a center of excellence
  • The opportunity to do the best work of your career
  • Work in an inclusive and diverse company culture
  • Competitive benefits and programs to support your well-being
  • Experience working in a collaborative environment with room to grow

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
