Job Description

Fabletics is looking for a Technical Designer.

How do you fit in?

As the Technical Designer for Women’s, you will support the development of apparel styles from design concept and first prototype to a final, production-ready sample by supporting initial tech pack creation. You will lead fittings, collaborate with Designers and vendor partners to create brand-right fits that align with our product standards. You will join a team of passionate and energetic individuals working towards our vision to be the world’s most fashionable, innovative and inclusive active-lifestyle brand.  

  

You will report to the Technical Design Manager and partner closely with Design, Product Development, Production, and Merchandising teams.  

  

What you will do: 

  • Assemble tech packs from development stages through production 
  • Develop technical specifications including measurement specs, grading and construction details 
  • Work closely with design and production team as well as development/production vendors  
  • Analyze garments to determine compliance of spec, construction, fit and design intent 
  • Lead fit sessions for 1st samples through production while maintaining accurate measurements and fit notes 
  • Facilitate the translation of apparel styles from design concept through prototyping to a final, production-ready sample offering solutions to correct fit and construction details 
  • Demonstrate strong time management skills and ability to prioritize competing deadlines. 
  • Support maintenance of fit consistency within product categories. 
  • Update tech packs and clearly communicate pattern corrections/style comments with Vendors 
  • Identify and alert design and production teams of potential production, quality and costing issues and making recommendations to ensure brand integrity is maintained 
  • Participate in market research for various construction techniques, new technologies and fit trends/solutions. 

What you can bring:

  • 4-5 years previous experience as a Technical Designer
  • Bachelor’s or Associated degree welcome, but not required in lieu of experience
  • Some patternmaking knowledge is not required but an advantage
  • Ability to interpret design intent and confidently offer alternative solutions as needed to achieve best product. 
  • Exceptional knowledge and eye for fit, garment construction, and finishing 
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal, written and presentation 
  • Ability to multi-task  
  • Knowledge of PLM, Excel, Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Outlook and Gerber and/or 3D apparel creation software is a plus

The annual base salary range for this position is from $80,000-$100,000. The range provided includes the base salary that Fabletics expects to pay for the role. Offered base salary will be dependent on factors including the scope and complexity of the role, candidate’s related work experience, subject matter expertise and work location.
