The Technical Architect (Frontend/Backend) is responsible for establishing the technical foundation and ensuring architectural coherence across all distinct application layers: the high-performance, customer-facing e-commerce UI; the secure internal administrative applications; and the specialized AI agent interaction interfaces. This role is highly hands-on, focused on bridging the gap between high-level architectural design and implementation across the full stack.
Internship DetailsDuration: 3 months (extendable based on performance and project scope)
Start Date: Immediate
Location: Remote
Stipend: Unpaid initially; may convert to a paid internship, full-time role, or even direct client absorption (FTE) based on your performance
You will lead the technical strategy for our application layers, ensuring robust, scalable, and API-first development practices.
Layer Foundation: Establish the technical foundations for all applications, specifically leveraging Next.js 14, React 18, and Tailwind CSS for the frontend, and the Node.js 22 (NestJS) modular monolith for the backend.
API-First Design: Design and document the API-first architecture that facilitates seamless communication both within the monolithic modules (MES $\leftrightarrow$ WMS $\leftrightarrow$ OMS) and externally for tool-to-tool communication (e.g., Slack to AI agents).
Technology Selection & Standardization: Select and standardize frameworks, libraries (e.g., Radix UI, Framer Motion), and coding patterns to ensure consistency, performance, and maintainability across the Monorepo structure.
System Diagrams & Documentation: Create comprehensive system diagrams and document all major architectural decisions for the frontend UX, the admin/B2B portal, and the integration points with Meilisearch and MinIO.
Code Quality & Mentorship: Enforce high code quality and testing standards across the organization. Lead technical strategy workshops and actively mentor developers on best practices, performance optimization, and security protocols.
Candidates must demonstrate deep, hands-on architectural experience across the specified, cutting-edge stack:
Frontend Mastery: Next.js 14, React 18, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Radix UI, Framer Motion.
Backend Expertise: Node.js 22 (NestJS Modular Monolith), TypeScript.
Architecture & Workflow: Monorepo structure, API design (REST/GraphQL), CI/CD via Makefile, Automated Testing Pipelines.
Data & Auth Knowledge: Strong familiarity with PostgreSQL, Redis, and JWT-based tenant-aware authentication (Authentik/Ory Kratos).
You will be critical in designing the user and technical interfaces for our AI capabilities.
Interface Design: Define the frontend patterns and API integration points for the AI agent interfaces, ensuring high usability and real-time feedback.
Tool Communication: Architect the backend services that enable AI agents to interact with in-house SaaS tools (e.g., retrieving information from a Jira-like system or posting updates to a communication tool).
Framework Alignment: Ensure architectural compatibility with AI orchestration frameworks like LangChain or LlamaIndex.
Performance will be measured by:
Architectural Coherence: Successful establishment and enforcement of full-stack architectural standards across all applications.
Performance: Achieving measurable improvements in frontend performance (Lighthouse scores) and API response times.
Team Enablement: The effectiveness of mentorship and documentation, resulting in consistent code quality and faster feature delivery across development teams.
Mentorship Structure: Reports to the Solution Architect/Head of Technology, providing direct technical guidance and mentorship to Frontend and Backend Senior Developers.
