Own and grow client relationships while meeting sales quotas for security services. We are looking for a Technical Account Manager to join our Leviathan Security Group practice area who has been on both sides of the table: someone who has done hands-on security testing and has since moved into selling it. You will own a book of new and existing client relationships, lead technical discovery calls yourself, and scope engagements accurately enough that our delivery team can execute them profitably. Because you understand how a penetration test actually works, you'll be able to translate a client's environment and concerns into the right engagement and earn trust with security buyers who can tell the difference between a salesperson and a practitioner. You will work closely with both our consulting leads and project management team.

This is a remote role in the USA.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Consistently meet and exceed sales quotas by identifying, qualifying, and closing new business opportunities.
  • Proactively source new prospects and strategically position Leviathan’s solutions to address their unique needs.
  • Lead technical discovery calls to understand a client's environment, attack surface, compliance drivers, and goals.
  • Scope engagements (network, web application, API, cloud, mobile, red team, GRC, TPRM, and social engineering assessments) by estimating level of effort, defining rules of engagement, and identifying assumptions and exclusions.
  • Write proposals and statements of work and support pricing decisions with the Director of Business Development.
  • Leverage client feedback to manage and grow a portfolio of existing accounts, including annual retesting, follow-on work, and retainer opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams - including Technical Services, Risk and Advisory Services, and our Program Management Office - to ensure smooth implementation and client satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline and forecast data in the CRM.
  • Strong ability to work independently and under pressure while maintaining a high level of responsiveness to clients. Quickly adapt to shifting business priorities with a proactive mindset.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and problem-solving skills in diverse situations, showing drive, initiative, energy, and a strong sense of urgency in acquiring and supporting clients.

Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent is required.
  • 3+ years of hands-on offensive security experience (penetration testing, application security testing, or red teaming), either at a consultancy or on an internal security team.
  • 2+ years of quota-carrying sales, sales engineering, or pre-sales experience for security services or products.
  • Ability to accurately scope penetration testing engagements and explain methodology, tooling, and findings to both technical and executive audiences.
  • Experience writing proposals or statements of work.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-directed work style suited to a remote environment.
  • Offensive security certifications such as OSCP, OSWE, GPEN, GWAPT, or CRTO preferred.
  • Experience selling at a boutique or mid-sized consultancy preferred.
  • An existing network of security buyers in target verticals preferred.
  • Experience with HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar CRM platforms preferred.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
