We’re actively seeking a talented Tax Manager to join our Corporate Tax department in Newport Beach, CA. This role is hybrid. We believe in empowering our employees to get work done both in and out of the office.
As a Tax Manager, you will play a critical role in leading all tax matters for the Company’s International Reinsurance Division. You will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of USGAAP tax accounting and reporting and US tax compliance on US tax matters for the Company's International Reinsurance Division. This role involves coordinating non-US tax provision and compliance work and acting as a liaison with different teams from the Reinsurance Division. The Tax Manager will need to be proficient in ASC 740 and familiar with US corporate international tax law; non-US tax knowledge and experience is a plus.
How you’ll help move us forward:

Oversee and manage all aspects of USGAAP tax accounting and reporting for the Company’s Reinsurance Division on US tax matters

Review and provide ASC 740 technical guidance to the Reinsurance Division finance teams on local taxes (this includes review and consolidation of income tax provisions prepared by Reinsurance Division finance teams into the consolidated global income tax provision)

Prepare and review tax related analysis and footnotes for the Reinsurance Division to be included in the Company’s USGAAP financial statements

Advise and support business teams to provide tax analysis and suggestions for various business initiatives in the Reinsurance Division

Oversee and manage external advisors in preparation of international tax forms within the US consolidated tax return, including coordinating data requests across Reinsurance Division business teams, responding to document requests, review of tax returns, and performing return to provision analysis

Oversee and manage certain US tax forms related to the division such as FATCA and Country-by-Country reporting and support local tax return filing process

Provide technical guidance to less experienced team members and divisional colleagues
The experience you bring:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance

Minimum 6 years of progressive tax experience; combination of Big 4 and multinational corporate experience with concentration in income tax accounting and international taxation

Life insurance industry experience preferred

Experience in developing, presenting and implementing process improvements, new approaches and best practices

Strong research, analytical, and Microsoft Office skills

Experience with Longview tax provision software and OneSource Income Tax for tax compliance

Base Pay Range:
The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
