Serverfarm is a leading developer and operator of data centers with over 750+ locations and key customer relationships in 45 countries. We're revolutionizing how data centers operate across North America, Western Europe, and Israel, serving the world's leading technology and hyperscale companies. With Manulife Investment Management's acquisition in 2023 and our award-winning InCommand platform we're positioned for explosive growth as AI adoption and cloud migration drive unprecedented demand for data center capacity.

A career at Serverfarm means being at the forefront of digital infrastructure innovation, where your work directly impacts how the world's data is managed and secured. As we target 4x growth over the next four years, you'll have unprecedented opportunities to take on new challenges, develop cutting-edge skills, and grow your career across our expanding global operations.

Join our team of innovators and help shape the future of sustainable data centers while building a career without boundaries.

As a Talent Acquisition Sourcing Specialist, you'll be the engine behind staffing Serverfarm's data center operations teams, finding and engaging the technicians, engineers, site administrators, and chief engineers who keep our facilities running 24x7. We expect you to own the candidate journey from first outreach to day one. That means sourcing proactively, running sharp qualification prescreens, keeping interviews moving, and managing preboarding steps like background checks and I-9 verification accurately and on time. You'll partner closely with Data Center Operations leaders and hiring managers, so clear communication, responsiveness, and sound judgment are essential. You'll also keep Lever data accurate and current so leadership can rely on it to make decisions. Success in this role means qualified hires in seat when our sites need them, a professional and engaging experience for every candidate, and stakeholders who see you as a trusted partner in building our teams.

Key Accountabilities

  • Source and engage candidates for Data Center Operations Technicians, Data Center Operations Engineers, Site Administrators, and Chief Engineers through LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, job boards, referrals, and direct outreach.
  • Build pipelines of critical facilities talent (electrical, mechanical, HVAC, controls), including candidates from adjacent mission-critical sectors such as military, utilities, and manufacturing.
  • Partner with hiring managers on sourcing strategies for steady-state hiring and ramp-up hiring at new sites as they come onstream.
  • Conduct qualification prescreens covering technical background, licenses and certifications, 24x7 shift availability, compensation expectations.
  • Coordinate interviews and site visits, keep candidates engaged at every stage, collect timely feedback, and support offers and closing.
  • Work regularly with Data Center Operations stakeholders, hiring managers, and leadership; lead intake meetings, provide pipeline and hiring status updates, and flag risks to hiring plans early.
  • Coordinate preboarding from offer acceptance through day one, partnering with HR, IT, Security, and site leadership on paperwork, site access, equipment, and safety orientation.
  • Manage background checks through completion and complete Form I-9 verification (including E-Verify where applicable) within required timelines, maintaining compliant records.
  • Keep candidate and requisition data in Lever complete, accurate, and current, and ensure a clean data handoff from Lever to Workday for new hires.
  • Report on pipeline and funnel metrics (time-to-fill, source effectiveness, pass-through rates) and recommend process improvements.

Required Skills

  • 2+ years of experience in recruiting, sourcing, or talent acquisition coordination, ideally supporting technical, skilled trades, or high-volume hiring.
  • Proven sourcing capability and experience prescreening candidates against technical role requirements.
  • Working knowledge of Form I-9 compliance and background check administration.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple requisitions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Recruiting experience in data center, mission-critical, or critical facilities environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Lever ATS and Workday HRIS, and familiarity with E-Verify.
  • Experience supporting new site launches or rapid team ramp-ups.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
