The Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) team is seeking a Systems Test & Evaluation Engineers (Associate or Experienced) to join our team in Long Beach, CA. Our test capability requires engineers who are driven, innovative, and committed to our customers' missions. The selected candidate will be responsible for contributing to Southern California Aeronautical System Integration & Test (ASIT) program deliverables for multiple airplane programs. The scope of responsibility includes system level design, integration and sustaining support of System Integration Labs (SIL), Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulators (HILS), and Flight Management System (FMS) Labs. The position works closely with BT&E leadership, Boeing Global Services (BGS) leadership, Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leads, and the BT&E ASIT Enterprise Capability Leader. Position Responsibilities:
  • Level 2 and Level 3 Responsibilities
    • Supports interdisciplinary planning, design, development, and verification of system solutions
    • Supports obsolescence planning for lab test capabilities
    • Helps define system test requirements and interface compatibility
    • Performs analyses to optimize system architecture and performance
    • Supports lab project execution across engineering disciplines
    • Uses Waterfall and Agile methods to support planning and execution
    • Applies Earned Value Management to track project performance
    • Contributes to analyses of system quality factors such as safety, reliability, maintainability, and testability
    • Supports requirements management, risk tracking, opportunity management, and technology readiness activities
    • Assists with ROM and BOE development
    • Supports project and process planning, policy implementation, and operational goals
  • Additional Level 3 Responsibilities
    • Leads assigned tasks or workstreams with limited supervision
    • Serves as a technical lead or primary point of contact for select efforts
    • Resolves integration issues across disciplines
    • Develops recommendations and technical guidance
    • Reviews deliverables and validates estimates, schedules, and requirements
    • Identifies and mitigates risks
    • Interfaces directly with customers and stakeholders
    • Mentors junior staff and supports team development

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 1+ years of experience with configuration management tools and best practices for Systems, Software, and Hardware design
  • 1+ years of experience using DOORS for requirements management
  • 1+ years of experience in acting in agile (SCRUM) leadership roles of Product Owner and/or Scrum Master

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with presenting information to leaders and external customers
  • Experience with DoD and Military platforms
  • Hands-on experience in a lab environment, performing software and hardware integration
  • History of developing, performing, and improving software and/or hardware test procedures
  • Experience leading teams and holding individuals accountable to commitments by creating a culture of ownership and accountability
  • Experience developing, managing, and modifying requirements, design solutions, and verification approaches
  • Experience leading in an agile/scrum team operating rhythm as a participant or in a role product owner or scrum master (Jira experience preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience leading the development of Basis of Estimates for U.S. Government proposals

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range:
Level 2: $90,950-$123,050
Level 3: $111,350-150,650
