Summary
The Senior Vice President of Sales is responsible for leading Golden West Packaging Group’s Southern California sales organization and driving profitable revenue growth, market share expansion, and strategic account development throughout the region.
This executive will shape and execute the Southern California go-to-market strategy, strengthen customer relationships, develop high-performing sales talent, and ensure disciplined execution of GWPG’s commercial processes. The role requires close collaboration with business unit leaders, plant leadership, operations, estimating, design, customer service, marketing, finance, and other supporting functions to deliver innovative packaging solutions and create long-term value for both customers and the business.
The SVP of Sales will play a critical role in developing the sales team, improving commercial accountability, strengthening pipeline management, implementing scalable sales processes, and identifying new opportunities across GWPG’s corrugated, folding carton, high-graphics, lithographic, specialty packaging, displays, and fulfillment capabilities.
Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with the organization’s long-term goals.
- Revenue Growth: Drive revenue generation by setting aggressive but achievable sales targets and ensuring their execution.
- Team Leadership: Manage and inspire a team of sales leaders and representatives, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Sales Process Optimization: Define and refine sales processes, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
- Collaboration with Leadership: Work closely with other executives to align sales efforts with marketing, finance and operations.
- Market Expansion: Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities, including geographic expansion, new customer segments, and product launches.
- Customer Relationships: Build and maintain relationships with key clients and strategic partners to drive long-term value.
- Forecasting and Reporting: Oversee sales forecasts, pipeline management, and performance reporting for the executive team.
- Budget Management: Allocate resources effectively, managing sales budgets and ensuring a strong return on investment.
- Risk Management: Anticipate challenges and develop contingency plans to mitigate risks and ensure continued growth.
- Talent Development: Recruit, train and mentor top sales talent, including managers, directors and key account executives.
California Pay Transparency Disclaimer: This is an Except position. The pay range for this position is $225,000 to $275,000 annual salary. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Actual placement within range will be contingent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, education, experience, internal equity and alignment with market data.
QualificationsRequired Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities (SKAs)

- Strong computer literacy with intermediate skills in Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or a related field.
Required Experience:
- 10-15+ years of sales leadership experience in the packaging industry, with a track record of meeting or exceeding revenue goals.
- Hands-on expertise in two or more of the following: corrugated packaging, folding carton, high graphics / lithographic packaging, specialty packaging.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit, manage, and develop a field sales team.
- Established network and relationships in the California / West Coast packaging market.
Work Environment:
- General office environment.
- Role requires regular travel to engage with Golden West plants, customers, and sales teams.
