The Game Show Group of Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) is a global leader in game show entertainment, spanning original and library programming across linear, digital, and streaming platforms, and a top cable network.

Sony Pictures Entertainment is seeking a Senior Vice President, Finance – Game Show Group to join its leadership team. This role will drive financial strategy, oversee performance management, and support key business decisions, including content investments, distribution strategies, and strategic partnerships.

This leader will operate at the intersection of finance and strategy—partnering closely with creative, sales, operations, distribution, and business affairs teams to optimize performance, unlock new revenue streams, and enable sustainable growth across the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of financial planning and analysis, including annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, long-range planning, and executive reporting, ensuring alignment with SPE corporate objectives
  • Oversee and direct all monthly, quarterly and year-end closings, ensuring timely, accurate, and reliable information for Game Show Network. Review, analyses, and improve standard monthly reporting (revenue and cost variance analysis). 
  • Responsible for all finance aspects of Game Show Network, including but not limited to:
    • Production accounting
    • Financial planning
    • Treasury
    • Accounting
  • Manage all accounting operations, including cash, billing, financial statements, general ledger, cost accounting, accounts receivable, tax compliance, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition, which are both handled internally and processed through the SPE GFO Team. 
  • Assist with financial analyses in support of production and commercial deals, including the assessment of proposed production budgets and commercial terms, ensuring the best financial and production outcomes.
  • Maintain full P&L ownership across all Game Show Group businesses, with accountability for financial performance, forecasting accuracy, and variance analysis
  • Serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership, aligning financial objectives with content strategy and audience growth initiatives
  • Deliver actionable financial insights, identifying risks and opportunities to improve profitability, optimize cost structures, and drive revenue growth
  • Collaborate with ad sales, distribution, and digital teams to optimize revenue streams, including advertising, affiliate fees, FAST/AVOD, and content licensing
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS/GAAP and SOX requirements, maintaining strong internal controls and financial governance
  • Partner with corporate finance, accounting, audit, tax, and treasury teams to ensure accurate reporting and financial integrity
  • Lead the development and delivery of executive and board-level presentations, including financial reviews and strategic updates
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing finance organization, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Drive process transformation and systems optimization, leveraging data and tools to enhance forecasting accuracy and operational efficiency
  • Lead and execute strategic initiatives and special projects, including new business ventures, partnerships, and organizational priorities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required; MBA and/or CPA strongly preferred
  • 20+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including senior executive roles within media, entertainment, or a related industry
  • Proven track record as a CFO or divisional finance leader with full P&L responsibility
  • Deep expertise in content economics, television production, and distribution finance
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior executives and drive strategic decision-making in a complex, matrixed organization
  • Strong leadership presence with experience building and developing high-performing teams
  • Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills; expert-level proficiency in Excel and financial systems (e.g., SAP, Essbase)
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial concepts for executive and non-financial audiences
  • Strategic thinker with strong business acumen, balanced by a hands-on, execution-oriented approach
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and collaborative leadership style

The anticipated base salary for this position is $304,000 to $385,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
