The Role
Are you an ambitious professional looking to make a significant impact in the employee benefits industry? As the SVP, Consultant Relations at Fidelity Investments, you'll lead new business initiatives and cultivate positive relationships with influential external consultants. This role is vital to our Workplace Investing organization, requiring a deep understanding of workforce solutions and outstanding strategic account management skills.

Your demonstrated success in strategic account management and consultant relations will be central to your achievements in this role. With a minimum of 10 years of industry experience, preferably complemented by an MBA or advanced degree, you hold extensive domain knowledge of Fidelity's products and services. Your outstanding communication skills, both oral and written, enable you to shape deal strategies and foster strategic relationships. You flourish in a fast-paced environment, balancing autonomous initiative with cooperative teamwork. Your capacity to manage time efficiently and prioritize key tasks will lead to positive outcomes for both new business and client retention.
- Developing and managing a key book of the largest and most influential consultants and search firms.
- Engaging regularly with senior leadership, applicable home offices, and individual search consultants.
- Providing continuous professional development on industry and competitor products/services.
- Frequent interaction with sales account executives, relationship managers, internal investment consultants, senior management, and pricing.
- Working independently, exhibiting drive, passion, and collaboration while using excellent judgment.
- Minimum 10+ years industry experience or equivalent.
- Preferred to have existing Consultant Relations and/or experience in strategic account management.
- An MBA or higher degree is advantageous.
- Series 7 and 63 licenses.
- Outstanding communication abilities, both spoken and written, particularly in group environments.
- Possess the knowledge and skill to guide deal strategies and foster winning outcomes.
- Demonstrable track record of encouraging strategic relationships.
- Must be organized and able to balance multiple projects simultaneously while working with consultant and deal-imposed deadlines.
- Collaborative and team oriented.
- Proactive and confident in working autonomously without specific instructions, combined with the capacity to contribute as part of the CR team.
- Board room/C-suite command presence and professional maturity.
- Creative thinking translated into beneficial presentation skills and content development.
- Deep domain experience in the industry and all in-scope Fidelity products.
- Commercially minded and understands the internal and external economics of our business across segment lines.
- Understands the regulatory environment.
- Strong willed enough to influence the action, but perceptive enough to do so in a consultative fashion.
- Able to influence and persuade and think strategically, balancing the needs of Fidelity and the client.
- Act with integrity and always use good judgment.
- This role is considered fully remote.
- Expect to travel for client engagement 30-50% of the time, plus some travel for internal meetings and trainings at Fidelity office locations.
The Team
Fidelity Consultant Relations is a collaborative, compassionate, and exciting environment. We serve a variety of partners, including external consultants, advisors, and their home offices. We also support internal collaborators inside Fidelity Workplace’s Client Engagement Group such as Sales, Relationship Management, and Strategy. This role is part of a fantastic team of Consultant Relations professionals.
Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
