Crunchyroll is looking for a strategic leader to own and optimize the performance of our SVOD line of business. Reporting to the VP of SVOD & Membership Strategy, this role turns data into clear commercial direction across pricing, packaging, promotions, and distribution. You will partner closely with Growth, Product, Finance, and regional teams to strengthen subscriber growth and lifetime value across the full subscriber lifecycle.
Core Areas of Responsibility- Track and assess SVOD performance across the subscriber lifecycle; identify the biggest levers to grow subscribers and LTV
- Set the strategic principles and guardrails for pricing, packaging, promotions, and distribution to guide Growth, Go-to-Market, and Partnerships teams
- Work with Finance, Product, and regional teams to evaluate region-specific pricing and promotional opportunities and model their impact
- Lead inputs to quarterly business reviews; report on performance, outcomes of recent initiatives, and next priorities
- Monitor competitor moves, market shifts, and industry innovation to spot optimization opportunities
- Establish clear testing and measurement frameworks for commercial levers (e.g., price elasticity, promotional cadence)
- Align with SVOD Strategy and Membership teams to prioritize initiatives that drive measurable growth
- Support ad-hoc strategic projects for senior leadership
We are considering applicants available to work a hybrid schedule, with three days each week onsite at our Los Angeles office.
About YouWe get excited about candidates, like you, because...
- 12+ years of experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, or corporate strategy at a media or technology company, including 2+ years of SVOD experience.
- Strong experience shaping pricing, packaging, promotions, and monetization strategy for a subscription product
- Advanced analytical and financial modeling skills, including sensitivity analysis to isolate the impact of key commercial levers on subscriber and financial performance
- Deep understanding of subscriber lifecycle metrics (acquisition, retention, churn, LTV) and how to influence them
- Experience building testing and measurement frameworks (e.g., price elasticity, promotional effectiveness)
- Experience partnering closely with Finance, Product, Growth, and regional teams in a matrixed organization
- Ability to translate market trends, competitor activity, and industry shifts into actionable strategy
- Exceptional communication skills with experience presenting insights and recommendations to C-level stakeholders
- Prior experience in digital retail, subscription services, advertising, or e-commerce is a plus
- Passion for streaming, entertainment, gaming, or anime is a plus
- Preferred: Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) with emphasis on strategy, operations, and leadership
