About the role

As a DevOps Engineer within the Infrastructure Engineering team, you are essential in automating and scaling the systems and services that power our streaming platform. You will partner with other infrastructure engineers and our development teams to work on projects related to infrastructure automation, scaling, and CICD. You will play an important role in driving them forward to completion and ensuring that the platform processes, automation and best practices are being followed. In collaboration with other engineers, you develop tools and systems that support services and facilitate high-quality software delivery.

About You

You have an in-depth understanding of Software and DevOps methodologies, automation, and infrastructure as code. You have experience in designing, building, and scaling high availability systems and developer platforms. You excel in a collaborative environment and can work well with your teammates, providing a good example to other engineers to achieve high quality and standards in everything they do. As a DevOps engineer, you will report to the DevOps Manager. 

Requirements

  • At least a Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience working in production-level environments as a DevOps Engineer
  • Experienced in automation and making reusable patterns and solutions.
  • Experienced in GitOps practices and CI/CD.
  • You have a passion for supporting and empowering software development teams.
  • Experienced with AWS, coupled with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) such as Terraform & CDK
  • Proficient in at least one programming language (TypeScript preferred)
  • Familiarity with relational databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL and non-relational databases such as DynamoDB.
  • Experience working with and guiding Software Engineers in production best practices, sharing knowledge across teams and teammates.
  • Able to accommodate periodic off hour meetings with international team members.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Participate in an on-call and developer support rotations.

Pluses:

  • Knowledge of Pulumi, Amazon ECS and Backstage are big pluses.
  • Experience with CDN and caching technologies such as AWS CloudFront.
  • Security, compliance and audit related experience

The Pay Range for this position is listed. Actual pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Crunchyroll’s Total Rewards offerings for employees.
