What this job involves:

As a Sustainability Analyst at JLL, you will provide critical support to the Global Design and Construction Sustainability program team serving a global financial services client. You will be responsible for managing and developing data and content that drives the client's design and construction sustainability program forward. At JLL, we are collectively shaping a brighter way — for our clients, ourselves and our fellow employees. In this role, you will analyze sustainability project data, track program performance against environmental and financial goals, and summarize complex datasets into clear, actionable metrics for diverse stakeholders. You will collaborate closely with the client's technology and reporting teams, sustainability consultants, and program management to maintain dashboards, create deliverables, and support green building certification efforts. What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Analyze and maintain sustainability project data for the global design and construction sustainability program, tracking performance against stated goals for energy, water, waste, and emissions

  • Ensure data quality meets client and stakeholder needs for measurement and reporting across the portfolio

  • Summarize data into appropriate metrics to communicate program achievements, progress, and opportunities for improvement, including environmental performance and financial outcomes such as cost premiums, savings, and payback periods

  • Collaborate with the client's technology and reporting team to maintain and improve the sustainability dashboard

  • Coordinate with sustainability consultants and program management to create presentations, trainings, playbooks, guides, and other project deliverables

  • Support the sustainability consulting team with operational and performance data needed for green building certification processes

  • Organize stakeholder communication to design and construction leadership and across related teams, including facilities management, marketing, branding, and other departments as needed

  • Identify improvement opportunities and develop practical solutions through collaboration with internal client teams and external vendor partners

  • Research industry trends, emerging regulations, and sustainability best practices to inform strategy for the financial services sector

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related field

  • 0 – 3 years practical experience

  • Demonstrated experience analyzing and managing sustainability or environmental performance data

  • High proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools, particularly Microsoft Excel

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to translate complex data into clear insights for diverse audiences

  • Exceptional attention to detail with commitment to data accuracy and quality control

  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and support senior leadership

Preferred qualifications:

  • Previous experience in sustainability consulting, corporate sustainability, or commercial real estate serving financial services clients

  • Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks and green building certification systems such as LEED, BREEAM, WELL, and/or Living Future certifications (Living Building Challenge, Zero Carbon, Zero Energy)

  • Experience with data visualization platforms, business intelligence tools, or sustainability dashboards

  • Knowledge of design and construction processes and how sustainability is integrated into project delivery

  • Understanding of basic financial analysis including cost-benefit analysis and return on investment calculations

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
