The Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking an Supply Chain Planning Specialist or Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position may be based in Palmdale, CA or Melbourne, FL.

  • Location: Palmdale, CA or Melbourne, FL
  • Schedule: 9/80 work schedule – every other Friday OFF; no telework available

Responsibilities include:

  • Define and develop material strategies to support program and production needs.
  • Assess supply chain resources; aggregate and prioritize demand requirements.
  • Develop, coordinate, and execute material forecasts and delivery schedules.
  • Participate in make/buy decisions, long‑term capacity and resource planning, product phase‑in/phase‑out, manufacturing ramp‑up, end‑of‑life and product-line management.
  • Lead affordability, cost‑savings, and/or process improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Program Management, Manufacturing, Procurement, Engineering, and Quality to resolve issues and meet manufacturing and test schedules.
  • Analyze purchase material supply/demand positions using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools.
  • Analyze lead times and identify critical‑path procurements.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure on‑time delivery at required quality levels for critical components.
  • Prioritize and communicate impacts of current and potential material shortages.

Basic Qualifications (Level 2):

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of related experience in Goods Movement, Subcontracts, Purchasing, Contracts, Finance, Logistics, Planning, or Project Management, or a Masters Degree with 0 years experience
    – OR – 6 years of related work experience in lieu of a degree
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Clearance
  • Ability to obtain special program access

Basic Qualifications (Level 3):

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Clearance
  • Ability to obtain special program access
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years combined experience in Goods Movement, Subcontracts, Purchasing, Contracts, Finance, Logistics, Planning, or Project Management
    – OR – Master’s degree with 3 years combined experience in Goods Movement, Subcontracts, Purchasing, Contracts, Finance, Logistics, Planning, or Project Management
    – OR – An additional 9 years of related work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP/MRP systems and experience working with and analyzing large data sets
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Experience with supplier management
  • Demonstrated communication skills with the ability to present information in an organized, effective manner
  • Advanced knowledge of SAP or similar ERP/MRP systems and complex data analysis

Primary Level Salary Range: $65,500.00 - $113,800.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $81,400.00 - $141,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
