About the Role

Neogen is seeking a Supply Chain Manager to lead material planning, inventory management, and supply chain execution across the Animal Safety business.

This role is responsible for leading a team of material planners, improving planning discipline, strengthening inventory performance, and ensuring product availability while balancing customer service, working capital, excess inventory, and scrap risk.

The Supply Chain Manager will partner closely with Operations, Procurement, Finance, Commercial, Manufacturing, Quality, suppliers, distributors, and other stakeholders to improve supply chain visibility, standardize processes, and drive stronger business outcomes.

The successful candidate will bring strong people leadership, analytical thinking, process improvement, and cross-functional partnership skills, with the ability to build structure and drive continuous improvement across the supply chain function.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

In this role, you will make an impact by:

  • Leading and developing a team of material planners responsible for supply planning, inventory management, and product availability
  • Providing clear direction, coaching, performance feedback, and development opportunities to team members
  • Establishing planning expectations, operating rhythms, and accountability across the material planning function
  • Overseeing analysis of forecast projections, demand changes, inventory requirements, and product delivery performance
  • Ensuring inventory levels support customer demand while minimizing backorders, excess inventory, obsolescence, and scrap risk
  • Driving improvements in forecast accuracy, inventory health, service levels, and planning execution
  • Reviewing supply and inventory data to identify risks, trends, constraints, and opportunities
  • Leading cross-functional efforts to resolve shortages, capacity constraints, supplier issues, and other supply disruptions
  • Partnering with Procurement, Operations, Manufacturing, Finance, Commercial, Quality, and other functions to align supply plans with business priorities
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with suppliers, distributors, and other external partners
  • Supporting supplier performance discussions and identifying opportunities to improve supply continuity and reliability
  • Establishing and improving standardized supply chain processes, tools, and performance metrics
  • Supporting the development of stronger planning and inventory management capabilities across the Animal Safety organization
  • Monitoring key supply chain metrics and using data to drive decisions and corrective actions
  • Supporting new product introductions, product transitions, discontinuations, and lifecycle planning
  • Leading or supporting supply chain improvement initiatives focused on planning, inventory optimization, customer service, cost, and operational efficiency
  • Identifying supply chain risks and implementing mitigation strategies
  • Improving communication and visibility across planning, procurement, operations, and commercial teams
  • Providing recommendations to leadership regarding inventory, supply risk, service performance, and planning priorities
  • Promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer focus
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Logistics, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, material planning, demand planning, inventory management, procurement, or a related function
  • 2+ years of people leadership or direct team management experience
  • Experience leading material planning, supply planning, inventory management, or related supply chain activities
  • Experience analyzing demand, forecast, inventory, and supply data to support business decisions
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Operations, Procurement, Finance, Manufacturing, Commercial, or related teams
  • Experience identifying and resolving supply chain risks, shortages, inventory issues, or planning constraints
  • Experience using ERP, MRP, planning, or inventory management systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in animal health, life sciences, food safety, manufacturing, consumer products, or another product-based industry
  • Experience leading material planners, demand planners, buyers, or other supply chain professionals
  • Experience with supplier management and supply continuity planning
  • Experience with inventory optimization, working capital improvement, or obsolescence reduction
  • Experience supporting new product introductions and product lifecycle management
  • Experience building or standardizing supply chain processes within a growing or changing organization
  • Experience leading continuous improvement or operational excellence initiatives
  • Experience with advanced planning, forecasting, reporting, or analytics tools
  • Experience managing supply chain KPIs and performance metrics
