Role Overview:

  • Identify and eliminate sole-source and single-point-of-failure risks
  • Assess technical requirements and qualify alternate sources across hardware
  • Evaluate supplier capabilities, capacity, and scalability
  • Drive supply chain risk identification and mitigation strategies
  • Support make/buy decisions and sourcing strategy with technical rigor

Responsibilities:

  • Supply Chain Risk Management
    • Identify sole-source components and supply chain vulnerabilities
    • Assess impact of risks across mechanical, electrical, and RF hardware
    • Develop and execute mitigation plans (dual sourcing, redesign, buffering)
    • Maintain visibility into supplier capacity and constraints
  • Technical Sourcing & Alternate Qualification
    • Interpret drawings, specs, and system requirements to identify viable alternates
    • Evaluate form/fit/function equivalence across components and assemblies
    • Qualify second sources for critical components (mechanical, PCBAs, RF, COTS)
    • Partner with Engineering to validate substitutions and changes
  • Supplier Capability Assessment
    • Evaluate supplier technical capability and production readiness
    • Assess ability to meet design requirements, tolerances, and volumes
    • Support supplier selection with data-driven technical input
  • Make / Buy & Design Integration
    • Support make vs. buy decisions based on cost, risk, and capability
    • Participate in design reviews to identify sourcing risks early
    • Provide DFM/DFA input related to supply chain constraints
  • Cross-Functional Coordination
    • Interface with Engineering, SQE, Sourcing, and Manufacturing
    • Facilitate technical discussions between suppliers and internal SMEs
    • Communicate supply chain risks, tradeoffs, and mitigation status

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Electrical, RF, or related engineering field
  • 5+ years in supply chain engineering, manufacturing engineering, or technical sourcing
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and technical specifications
  • Experience working across mechanical, electrical, and RF hardware domains
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and supplier capabilities

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with RF systems, networking hardware, or complex electronics
  • Experience qualifying alternate components or redesigning for supply continuity
  • Familiarity with broad UCCs (PCBAs, cables, machined parts, COTS components, electronics, etc.)
  • Experience in aerospace/defense or high-reliability environments
  • Experience supporting make/buy and sourcing strategy decisions

Salary Range: $130,000 - $170,000

The stated compensation range reflects only the targeted base compensation range and excludes additional earnings such as bonus, equity, and benefits.
