How this Role Will Be Impactful

In this role, you will be the customer’s advocate when interfacing with our logistics, production, sales, accounting, and marketing teams. You will be responsible for receiving and entering orders, tracking, and correcting, if necessary, all supply chain related situations, and generating useful data and reports that are in line with SVO leadership’s direction.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail demonstrated through report utilization and excellent note taking practices.

  • A professional demeanor that allows you to remain calm, polite and effective in all situations.

  • Thea ability to respond with agility to rapidly changing priorities and tasks.

  • A demonstrated desire to learn and grow within the role.  

  • Possess an investigative mindset.  With minimal information and supervision, discern the best conclusion.

  • At least 3 years of previous Customer Service experience

  • Competence with all Microsoft Office Programs

  • Strong data entry skills

  • Excellent grammar and written communication skills with an ability to adapt tone and voice to various audiences.

  • Passion for sustainable agriculture and food

Work Requirements

  • Excellent customer service by quick turnaround on all customer and internal requests via emails, phone calls, and other forms of communication.

  • Support our plant operations by communicating about items and pounds needed, order changes or cancellations, schedule changes, and special requests.

  • Sales support by retrieving specification sheets, label information, reports, and Ad Hoc requests from the sales team.

  • Attention to detail that supports order processing through accurate and daily entry into both production and financial software platforms.

  • Provide answers to all questions relating to customer purchase orders, ship dates, freight rates, short weights, short payments, outstanding payments, and other requests.

  • Open communication with the logistics team about order shipments, customer delays, appointments, rescheduling.

  • Reconciles client purchase orders (POs) against commission checks

  • Helps to settle open commission payments

  • Handles all calls/emails between buyers and vendors

  • Manages date changes, late trucks, order revisions, appointment assistance, and notifies buyers of shortages

  • Support special projects as requested

Work conducted primarily in an office environment. This role can remote for the right person with a preference for a drivable distance from Harrisonburg, VA. 

The position is required to visit the corporate office regularly for meetings, team cohesion and collaboration.

On rare occasions, work may require access the production environment. Must be able to tolerate the varying heat, wet, and chill of the plant. Hearing and eye-protective equipment required in the production area. Required to wear hair and beard nets in the production area. Must be able to traverse a two-story staircase multiple times per day.
