About Mach Industries

Founded in 2022, Mach Industries is a rapidly growing defense technology company focused on developing next-generation autonomous defense platforms. At the core of our mission is the commitment to delivering scalable, decentralized defense systems that enhance the strategic capabilities of the United States and its allies. With a workforce of approximately 220 employees, we operate with startup agility and ambition.

Our vision is to redefine the future of warfare through cutting-edge manufacturing, innovation at speed, and unwavering focus on national security. We are dedicated to solving the next generation of warfare with lethal systems that deter kinetic conflict and protect global security.

The Role

We are seeking a proactive and technically fluent Supplier Quality & Industrialization Engineer (SQIE) to qualify, develop, and scale a world-class supplier base that supports Mach’s growing portfolio of programs. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain—ensuring that suppliers are both capable of producing to specification and ready to scale from prototype through production. The ideal candidate combines a deep understanding of manufacturing processes and quality systems with a hands-on approach to problem solving, supplier development, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead supplier qualification, process audits, and capability assessments to ensure manufacturing readiness and compliance with Mach standards.

  • Partner with Engineering and Global Supply Management to define critical-to-quality (CTQ) features, process controls, and inspection methods for new and existing parts.

  • Oversee supplier industrialization activities including first article inspections (FAI), process validation, and production readiness reviews.

  • Implement and maintain supplier quality metrics (yield, OTD, NCR rate, Cp/Cpk) and drive corrective and preventive action programs.

  • Support design-for-manufacturability and process improvement initiatives to reduce defects, cycle time, and cost.

  • Lead root cause analysis and structured problem-solving efforts (8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa) for supplier nonconformances.

  • Develop scalable quality management systems and documentation standards that align with aerospace and defense requirements (AS9100, ITAR, DFARS).

  • Drive continuous improvement through supplier scorecards, performance reviews, and joint development plans.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth transition from prototype to production, establishing control plans and process capability targets.

  • Provide leadership visibility into supplier performance, risks, and mitigation strategies.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field (10+ years of relevant experience may substitute for degree).

  • 2+ years of experience in supplier quality, process engineering, or supplier development.

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, electronics assembly, or composites.

  • Hands-on experience with quality systems, PPAP/FAI, and process validation.

  • Familiarity with aerospace or defense quality frameworks and regulatory standards.

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in defense, aerospace, or advanced manufacturing industries.

  • Exposure to startup or growth-stage operations.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
