JOB OVERVIEW:

The Business Operations Summer Intern will support the Outlet Center’s ecommerce business growth strategy and contribute to key initiatives within Project Outlet.  This role provides hands on experience working on business process improvements, cross-functional projects, and operational strategy.

The intern will collaborate with teams across inventory, IT, marketing, and operations to analyze workflows, identify opportunities for improvement, and help drive efficiency. This is an excellent opportunity for a student interested in operations, project management, and ecommerce business strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Collaborates with the Outlet Center leadership team to map operational workflows, identify process gaps, and draft improvements to enhance day‑to‑day efficiency.

  • Supports Project Outlet workstreams—including inventory, IT, marketing, and other cross‑functional areas—by developing clear documentation and operational guides as required.

  • Analyzes existing processes and provide structured feedback and recommendations to improve productivity, streamline execution, and support ongoing project initiatives.

  • Works with leadership to coordinate efforts and resolve issues.

  • Works with the department prioritizing work assignments and act as a liaison with other departments.

  • Performs a variety of tasks/projects that address the needs of the department.

  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.

PREFERRED EDUCATION: 

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree with a demonstrated interest in operations, project management, process improvement or related business functions.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: 

  • Interest in operations, process improvements or project management

  • Interest in further developing problem solving and analytical skills

  • Willingness to learn about building connections between cross-functional teams that use different business systems

GENERAL SKILLS & COMPETENCIES: 

  • Good time management

  • Attention to detail and accuracy

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Ability to plan and arrange activities

  • Interpersonal communication skills

  • Good verbal and written skills

WORK EXPERIENCE: 

No experience required.

TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Travel typically less than 10%. Office environment. No special physical demands required.

The posted hourly rate for this internship position is based on both your education and location.

Candidates possessing up to and including a high school diploma can receive either $15 or $16/hr depending on location. This rate also applies to candidates enrolled in a college program but have not yet started those studies.

Candidates currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree or equivalent can receive either $18 or $20/hr depending on location. This rate also applies to candidates enrolled in an advanced, post-graduate degree program but have not yet started those studies.

Candidates possessing a bachelor’s degree or equivalent and currently pursuing an advanced, post-graduate degree (i.e., MS, MBA, JD, etc.) can receive either $22 or $24/hr depending on location.
