ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are searching for a talented Robotics Engineering intern to contribute to our Active Safety Integration PreDev team in Lowell, MA. You'll be building the future of safe driving by crafting clever algorithms and software for Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS). You will have the opportunity to tackle multidisciplinary challenges involving ML and robotics. You'll focus on creating simulation tools in Carla, generate synthetic data, and test algorithms for ADAS Systems (ADAS)
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:• Build Simulation environment in Carla for testing and synthetic data generation• Create simulation scenarios to cover safety cases such as EuroNCAP Scenario• Create sensors plugin for Radar and Camera• Design and implement software tools to support testing and evaluation in Simulation
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:• Pursuing a Bachelor's or graduate degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Computer Engineering or an equivalent field.• Relevant research / project experience in one or more of the following areas: Simulation, multi-object tracking; sensor fusion; machine learning; mapping & localization; motion planning; controls
YOUR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:• Demonstrable experience with Carla simulation environment• Experience working with data from one or more sensors (radar, camera, lidar, ultrasonics, etc.)
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:• Experience with software development in C++, Python (using OOP concepts)• Experience with robotics middleware (ROS, ROS2, etc.)• Experience with modern software tools and design patterns
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT:• Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer.• In-person at Magna - Lowell, MA• Duration 3-6 months
