The Role
The Strategy & Planning team, part of Block's Business Operations function, helps set the company's strategic direction and builds the systems, processes, and rhythms that drive operational excellence. We partner closely with senior leadership to translate complex goals into coordinated action, enabling Block to scale and execute its mission of economic empowerment. As a Strategy & Planning Manager, you'll manage key business processes, drive cross-functional alignment, and deliver insights that inform executive decision-making and strategic investments.
You Will
  • Manage and streamline Block's strategic planning and goal-setting processes
  • Develop tools and resources to improve company-wide processes and operating rhythms (e.g., business reviews, exec meetings, board updates, all-hands)
  • Support development and automation of strategic priority goals
  • Partner with stakeholders across Finance, Strategy, Biz Ops, People, and Product to address issues, build consensus, and drive value quickly
  • Provide analysis, frameworks, and recommendations to guide resource allocation and senior management decisions
  • Create compelling communications to convey Block's strategy and progress to the Board, investors, leadership, and employees
  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities and risks; develop business cases and ensure smooth execution of approved initiatives

You Have
  • 5+ years working in analytical or strategic roles (consulting, business operations, or finance)
  • Proven track record leading company-wide planning, goal setting, and resource allocation processes at scale
  • Experience with AI and process automation
  • Strong stakeholder management and influence skills with senior leaders
  • Exceptional data and information analysis skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to distill complex concepts into clear, impactful stories
  • Preferred: Deep familiarity with the US fintech industry, including competitive, industry, and technology trends

Pay and benefits are subject to change at any time, consistent with the terms of any applicable compensation or benefit plans.
Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

$148,700 - $223,100 USD
Zone B:
$141,300 - $211,900 USD

$133,800 - $200,800 USD
