Overall Purpose

Strategy at VaynerMedia provides a crucial perspective on the business dynamics.  We are a human centric, culture obsessed discipline where we dive deep into audience insights, media trends, cultural shifts, and tech innovations that inform our strategic recommendations.  Our team is collectively redefining and modernizing the way our clients harness consumer and cultural intelligence, develop brand strategy and plan for attention.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Live and breathe their areas of expertise day in and day out to bring real time knowledge. 
  • Conduct daily scans across their passion areas for timely, relevance driving cultural signals.   
  • Drive daily cultural opportunities in AIM (with context around trends, conversations, emerging influencers, new competitors, vernacular, how its showing up on platforms, etc), so teams can optimize these signals authentically.
  • Partner closely with Creative Captains to ensure cultural insights and signals are actionable and fuel AIM sessions and inspire high-performing content.
  • Deliver MRR / QRRs, Thought Leadership on relevance in these areas , brand opportunities.
  • Continuously expand on expertise by pairing existing passions with new learning/areas..
  • Serve as a flexible strategic resource—deployable across multiple accounts / initiatives.

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

  • Cultural Fluency: Multi, deep passion points with a genuine finger on the pulse and inherent topic knowledge. They don’t just find, they know and understand their spaces.. 
  • Networked: Living in the culture of these spaces, not just observing—connected to the right people, groups, and events. So deep in the world that it is second nature to them.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to spot early signals on short notice and aptitude to translate into strategic value for clients, even without traditional strategy experience.
  • Writing Skills: Ability to craft internal and external reports, thought leadership, and POVs.
  • Soft Skills: Strong curiosity, "go-getter energy," and a bias for action to ensure insights drive tangible, executable creativity.
