Job Description

  

At Teledyne Microwave Solutions, you will help advance the next generation of high‑reliability Traveling Wave Tube (TWT) products used across aerospace, defense, satellite communications, electronic warfare, and space systems. You will play a central role in developing, refining, and sustaining the specialized processes that enable our high‑performance microwave components. Your work ensures that our manufacturing teams can deliver exceptional quality, improved yields, and reliable products that meet demanding industry requirements.

Position Overview: 

We are seeking a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to join our team at Teledyne Microwave Solutions in Rancho Cordova. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing sourcing strategies, managing supplier performance, and supporting supplier quality initiatives. This role works cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure continuity of supply, mitigation of commodity risks, and delivery of high-quality materials and components

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with cost, quality, and delivery objectives
  • Lead sourcing and procurement activities for assigned commodities, including supplier selection, negotiation, and contracting
  • Monitor and mitigate commodity shortages and supply risks to ensure business continuity
  • Conduct supplier capacity assessments and support supplier survey planning to ensure production readiness
  • Evaluate and qualify suppliers in alignment with Teledyne standards and business requirements
  • Monitor supplier performance (quality, delivery, cost) and drive corrective actions for underperforming suppliers
  • Manage supplier corrective actions, including root cause analysis and implementation of preventive measures
  • Conduct supplier audits for qualification, ongoing monitoring, and issue resolution
  • Act as liaison between Sourcing, Quality, Engineering, and Operations to resolve supplier-related issues
  • Support non-conformance management activities and supplier-related investigations
  • Partner with Engineering and Manufacturing on new product introduction (NPI), including supplier readiness and process validation
  • Recommend supplier process and capability improvements to enhance quality, delivery, and efficiency
  • Support strategic or segmented procurement approaches for critical or high-risk components
  • Provide reporting and analysis on supplier performance and sourcing metrics
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in sourcing, supplier management, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with supplier quality processes including audits, corrective actions, and quality systems
  • Experience with supplier capacity planning, supplier surveys, and shortage mitigation strategies
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in KPI tracking and reporting
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office tools

Salary Range:

$120,300.00-$160,400.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, local regulations (such as minimum wage), education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
