THE OPPORTUNITY:

You will drive value creation through strategic supplier partnerships, develop and implement localized category strategies, and support sourcing efficiency. This role is critical to ensuring high-quality service delivery, compliance with corporate standards, and alignment with Takeda's overall business goals.
OBJECTIVES:
- Partner closely with Global Category Managers to deliver measurable value through strategic sourcing initiatives and robust supplier relationship management.
- Develop, adapt, and execute local category strategies that align with both VBU's business objectives and global procurement frameworks.
- Act as the primary liaison between VBU and procurement functions, ensuring stakeholder needs are met and procurement goals are integrated into business planning.
- Provide regional and business-specific input into global category strategies and support the monitoring and reporting of performance metrics.
- Ensure full compliance with Takeda's procurement policies, ethical standards, and sustainability commitments.
- Identify and implement process improvements and innovations in procurement systems and practices to enhance operational efficiency.
- Contribute to risk management, contract optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives across the procurement lifecycle.
EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; a Master's degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPM) are a plus.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, ideally within the pharmaceutical sector with the focus on distribution & logistics.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, matrixed environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) in English; additional proficiency in a local language is advantageous.
- Strategic thinker with a proactive, curious, and solution-oriented mindset; demonstrated ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with procurement platforms such as SAP Ariba, Coupa, or similar tools is preferred.
