About us

Corner Health is rebuilding primary care by helping Nurse Practitioners (NPs) start and scale their own independent practices. Our AI-native operating system handles everything from billing and insurance to patient communication and clinical workflows, giving providers more time to do what matters most: care for patients.

In the past year, we’ve become the fastest-growing primary care network in Arizona and Washington, supporting more than 70 provider-owned practices and over 50,000 patient visits.

Corner Health was founded by Lava Sunder and Anne Gifford and has raised $32.5M from Oak HC/FT, First Round Capital, Zigg Capital, and the founders of DoorDash, Commure, Grow Therapy, Kindred, Culdesac, and more.

About the Role

At Corner Health, we’re building something fundamentally different: a network of hyper-local, independent, in-person primary care practices powered by modern technology. This is a completely new model of care. Today, 88% of patients prefer a provider powered by Corner Health over other options, and patients return at twice the national average rate—not because of marketing, but because the experience actually works.

As an Associate on the Strategic Partnerships team, you will be a force multiplier across partner strategy, sourcing, execution, and other special projects. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role where you will play a critical role in building the Strategic Partnerships function from the ground up.

If you thrive in ambiguity, love turning strategy into execution, and want to shape how innovative healthcare solutions reach more patients through employers, payors, and other ecosystem partners, this is the role for you.

What you’ll work on

  • Partner Strategy & Analysis: Support the development of our payor, employer, and ecosystem partnership strategy - sizing markets, building financial models, and turning data into clear recommendations.
  • Sourcing & Pipeline: Research, identify, and prioritize new partnership opportunities, and own the partner pipeline from first outreach through a signed agreement.
  • Commercial Meetings: Pitch Corner Health to payors, employers, and ecosystem partners - leading meetings, telling our story, and building relationships with senior decision-makers.
  • Contracting & Negotiation Support: Prepare the materials that power our negotiations - rate benchmarking, proposals, term sheet comparisons, and creative partnership structures - and help drive deals across the finish line.
  • Execution & Partner Management: Keep live partnerships moving - coordinating launches, tracking performance, and surfacing issues and opportunities before they become problems.

What you’re like

  • You have 2–3 years of experience in consulting, finance (e.g., banking, PE, VC), or working at a venture-backed startup.
  • You are an AI-forward operator - you already use AI tools daily to work faster and smarter, and you're excited to leverage AI to multiply your output
  • You have strong analytical skills - comfortable building a financial model, digging into data, and turning it into a clear recommendation.
  • You have strong commercial and executive presence - confident pitching to senior leaders and comfortable building trusted relationships with C-suite executives at payors, employers, and other partners.
  • You are scrappy and resourceful - you find a way to get things done, run through walls, and are not afraid of taking on big goals.
  • You are comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment with high ownership, ambiguity, and rapid iteration.

What would set you apart

  • You have healthcare experience or a personal connection to our mission of making independent local primary care accessible to more patients.
  • You have demonstrated examples of scrappiness - landing meetings with senior executives, finding creative and unique solutions to hard problems, or changing the status quo within your organization.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary & equity compensation
  • Top-tier health and dental
  • Health & wellness stipend
  • Eligible to participate in company-sponsored 401(k) plan

What we're like

You’re joining an early-stage company - it’s important to learn more about what we’re like!

We're a small team with high ownership and high autonomy. We are motivated by the providers we get to know, and the patient lives we impact.

We love celebrating when one of our providers hits a patient growth milestone, when we see a stellar review written by a patient who finally feels listened to, or when we ship a quick feature request that a provider has (our fastest time from request → live was 12 minutes!)

We use best-in-class tools to move fast and punch above our weight, and the work we do has a direct, tangible impact on people's health and lives, and we feel that every day.

Lastly - one of our team values is "Life is short - it's OK to laugh". Whether it's late-night team dinners, mini golf, or just jamming on new ideas for our providers - we work hard and have fun doing it.

Corner Health is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and considers all qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status or any other legally protected characteristic. We also consider for employment all qualified applicants regardless of criminal histories, consistent with applicable law.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
