Job Description

We’re hiring a Strategic Growth Account Executive to drive commercial expansion within our Strategic segment.

This role is about creating net-new value inside accounts that already have a foothold with our technology but not a direct commercial path. You’ll identify expansion angles, open new teams, introduce new products, and close revenue.

Reporting directly to the Strategic Sales Director and working closely with the Senior VP of Ecosystems, this role requires a seller who can influence senior leadership, navigate complex environments, and consistently deliver new revenue within existing accounts.

Key Metrics
  • Closed/won revenue

    • New teams (non–Gong Engage licensed)

    • Cross sell (new products)
Gong Engage–provisioned licenses do not count toward target.

Responsibilities
  • Drive new business expansion within Strategic accounts using Chili Piper through Gong Engage.

  • Build and execute account strategies that uncover new teams, new product opportunities, and paths to a direct commercial relationship.

  • Run the entire sales cycle end-to-end, from outbound prospecting to negotiation and contract close.

  • Partner with Customer Success during early engagement, then take full ownership as deals move toward direct agreements.

  • Build strong relationships with senior leaders and C-suite stakeholders.

  • Coordinate tightly with the Strategic SDR, Marketing, and Partnerships to drive pipeline and create multi-threaded engagements.

  • Deliver crisp, confident value messaging that clearly differentiates Chili Piper.

  • Travel to key accounts as needed (up to 20%).

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years in strategic or enterprise sales.

  • Strong track record selling SaaS solutions into complex organizations.

  • Proven ability to close net-new revenue, manage multi-threaded cycles, and engage senior leadership.

  • Confident in managing full commercial ownership of deals.

  • Strong communication skills, clear, direct, and executive-ready.

Preferred

  • Experience with Chili Piper and/or Gong

  • Background navigating channel-like or partner-influenced sales motions

  • Based in

    • Austin, Chicago, New York, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, Boston, Washington D.C., or Philadelphia metro areas

Additional Details
  • Fully remote but will require travel to customers (up to 20%)

Additional Information

Why you'll love being a part of our team:

Our team loves Chili Piper because we’re building the company of the future.

  • Work with an immensely talented global team

  • Work in a business that’s run fairly and transparently

  • Competitive pay based on market rate wherever you live

  • We lead by example--showing industry peers and leaders how to innovate, improve, and grow--while having fun

How we work:

  • Freedom and flexibility. We’re a 100% distributed team working from around the world, and we've been fully remote since 2016. Our team members can work from wherever they want in the world, as long as they show up on our weekly all hands meeting on Zoom.

  • Solve interesting problems. The software landscape has exploded. There are dozens of solutions for each problem. We want to be different. We come up with new angles on existing problems or invent better solutions to help companies with their sales and marketing. Then we turn these ideas into beautiful, smart software.

  • Autonomy and ownership. Working on a distributed team means you don’t have someone micromanaging you or looking over your shoulder to make sure you’re getting things done. We’re a team of do-ers who take full ownership for their results.

  • Be helpful. Our first value as a company is help. Help our customers be successful. Help our prospects get the right information and make the right decision whether or not it includes our products. Help our team members reach their full potential.

The perks:

  • Unlimited vacation (and we do mean it, and we do take it!)

  • Generous health, dental, and vision insurance

  • Any equipment/software/tech that you need to do your job

  • Annual professional development stipend of $2,000 USD

  • Equity - all Pipers receive stock options

  • Annual company retreat in epic locations (past trips: Paris, Morocco, Tulum, Iceland, Ibiza, India). Check out the video from last year’s retreat in Tenerife.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
