About Us

We're living through a fundamental shift in how people discover, evaluate, and purchase products. The next generation doesn't respond to traditional marketing—they build relationships with brands through authentic social interactions, seek recommendations from communities they trust, and expect personalized experiences that feel human, not corporate.

At Nectar Social, we're building the AI-native social operating system that powers this new era of commerce. Our platform helps brands manage community, creators, and commerce all in one place—through AI agents that respond, listen, and learn from every social interaction.

Founded by ex-Meta product and engineering leaders and backed by GV (Google Ventures) and True Ventures, we're building the future of social commerce—where community, conversation, and commerce converge.

The Role

We're hiring a Strategic Account Manager to lead relationships with top brands using Nectar. This is not traditional account management—you’ll act as a customer strategist, AI advisor, and success architect, helping brands fully adopt AI into their day-to-day marketing and support workflows.

Ideal candidates are former brand-side operators—those who’ve led social or digital teams and are eager to work hands-on with emerging AI technology in a customer-facing role.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Own the full customer lifecycle: onboarding, workflow integration, account health monitoring, and renewals

  • Act as the main point of contact for brand stakeholders—ensuring high adoption and measurable outcomes

  • Translate marketing, support, and community goals into scalable, agent-driven workflows

  • Guide customers through the setup and optimization of AI agents across engagement, creator ops, and reporting

  • Deliver proactive insights, performance reviews, and success plans to deepen product value

  • Collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering to represent customer needs and drive roadmap priorities

  • Contribute to internal playbooks, tooling feedback, and customer onboarding experiences

What We’re Looking For
  • 3+ years in account management, partnerships, or brand-side marketing/ops leadership (e.g. Director of Social, Brand, or Digital). Experience in a fast-paced startup or AI-focused company is a strong plus

  • Hands-on familiarity with modern marketing workflows: community management, influencer strategy, customer care, analytics

  • Demonstrated interest in AI: you’ve explored tools like ChatGPT, Zapier, OpenAI, or built internal automations

  • High emotional intelligence and clear communication—comfortable advising executives and creators alike

  • History of high performance: multiple promotions, growing scope, or startup-level ownership

  • MBA preferred, and top-tier academic background (Ivy League or equivalent) is a plus

Bonus Points
  • Experience implementing or managing AI/automation tools

  • Familiarity with social media APIs, CRM systems, or analytics platforms

  • Experience supporting high-growth consumer brands (DTC, beauty, wellness, etc.)

  • Contributions to enablement, training, or internal operations

What We Offer
  • Competitive salary and meaningful equity

  • Full health, dental, and vision benefits + 401(k) matching

  • Access to cutting-edge AI tooling and experimentation budget

  • High-ownership role working directly with founders and product

  • Flexible hybrid model from our Palo Alto HQ

  • Clear path to leadership in customer strategy, success, or product

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
