The Stop Loss Analyst, Lead at HMA provides essential analysis and management of stop loss insurance policies for our self-funded groups. Acting as a key liaison between clients and internal teams, the analyst safeguards clients from high dollar claims while supporting efficient benefit administration and regulatory compliance.
What YOU will do:
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure that resource capacity is sufficient to deliver work on-time
- Oversee Group Renewal activity to maximize stop loss coverage and reimbursement for Groups
- Understand systems and tools required to execute the stop loss function. Monitor for stable performance and potential operational enhancements
- Analyst capability: Provides strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills in managing the Stop Loss function and reducing risk to HMA and Groups
- Business requirement development: Ability to assess and write detailed business requirements
- Industry knowledge: Ability to research, risks, and trends that benefit the customer and HMA
- Technical capability: Ability to use Excel and other HMA systems to gather, assess, and perform detailed calculations
- Reporting: Ability to create actionable dashboard and ROI reporting
- SME: Working knowledge of program operations, systems, and associated regulations at the local, state, and federal level
- Business knowledge: Demonstrates operational business and claims processing subject matter expertise
- Critical thinking and troubleshooting: Ability to identify issues, recommend solutions, and manage situations to resolution
- Able to drive process improvement opportunities for increased efficiency and performance
- Understands the impact of the work being performed to identify any downstream impacts or risks to the HMA or the Client
- Coordination and multitasking: Assists with coordination, design, and execution of activities necessary to facilitate the stop loss functions on behalf of our Groups.
Knowledge, Experience, and Key Attributes needed for Success:
- Associate Degree minimum required
- 7-10+ years of experience in Stop Loss Reporting or Medical Claims
- 1-3+ years of proven leadership experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Teams, Word, etc)
- Strong Customer Relations Skills
- Partnership with the portfolio manager, programs manager, and other Claims and Operations functions at HMA
- Team oriented: Works well as part of a solutions team, sharing ideas, supporting intended outcomes
- Customer response: Effectively responds to internal and external customer inquiries and focuses on issue resolution
- Stress management: Ability to keep focused and manage stress under pressure
- Continual Learner: Seeks out and finds ways to continually learn and evolve with the business
Compensation:
