About the Team

Our Solution Engineering (SE) team is a critical component of SailPoint’s success. We partner closely with sales to drive revenue by understanding customer needs and demonstrating the value of our solutions. The team tackles their goals through a variety of roles and functions including strategy, data analysis, hiring and training, forecasting, territory design, and sales process optimization. We are looking for innovative individuals to bring their skills and ideas to the table, and help us create an environment that will continue to attract the most talented professionals.

About The Opportunity

SailPoint is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Early Career Sales Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will work alongside experienced sales professionals, solution engineers, and partners to drive the adoption of our industry-leading Identity Security solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for technology and a desire to develop their sales and technical skills in a fast-paced environment. We encourage candidates with diverse work experience either in revenue organizations or in technology positions to apply.

What You’ll Do

  • Actively participate in the sales process, working closely with sales teams and channel partners.
  • Lead the standard SailPoint technical discovery process to uncover and understand customer requirements and align our solutions to those requirements.
  • Confidently present SailPoint’s business functions, value proposition, and competitive advantages to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Deliver compelling product demonstrations that showcase the power and flexibility of SailPoint’s solutions.
  • Assist in the development of high-quality RFP responses.
  • Participate in onsite and remote Proof of Concept (POC) evaluations.
  • Provide valuable feedback to Product Management on potential product enhancements based on customer interactions.
  • Seek opportunities to be the Lead SE with support.
  • Able to move between presentation materials and live demos with ease.
  • Understands the concept of the value sale.
  • Seeks to work with and support cross-functional teams.
  • Learn new ways to deal with difficult situations or setbacks and continue to pursue one’s personal goals despite the obstacles.
  • Be committed to personal and company goals and go the extra mile to achieve them.

What You’ll Bring

  • 2+ years of professional experience in a customer-facing role (e.g., sales, consulting, customer support) or technical role (e.g., software development, system administration).
  • Experience with Identity, Governance, and Access Management solutions is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
  • A working knowledge of technical infrastructure, including application servers, databases, virtualization, and directories.
  • Familiarity with Java, XML, LDAP, and SQL is desirable.
  • A strong desire to learn and grow in the field of Identity Security.
  • Demonstrates a high level of confidence at all times when delivering a presentation.
  • Capable of leading the standard SailPoint technical discovery process.
  • Able to move between presentation materials and live demos with ease.
  • Understands the concept of the value sale.
  • Seeks to work with and support cross-functional teams.

Location & Travel

  • Remote US based
  • Travel is anticipated to be up to 25%.

Education

  • BA/BS preferred or global equivalent experience; 2+ years of related experience.

Benefits and Compensation listed vary based on the location of your employment and the nature of your employment with SailPoint.

As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the SailPoint Corporate Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission, along with potential eligibility for equity participation. SailPoint maintains broad salary ranges for its roles to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect SailPoint’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity. We estimate the base salary, for US-based employees, will be in this range from (min-mid-max, USD):

$58,380 - $83,440 - $108,500

Base salaries for employees based in other locations are competitive for the employee’s home location.
