The Part-Time Pharmacist provides essential medication management and clinical pharmacy services for hospitalized patients, ensuring the safe, effective, and compliant use of medications in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team. This role utilizes clinical expertise to review and verify medication orders, optimize medication therapy, monitor patient outcomes, and support pharmacy operations while promoting quality patient care in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Pharmacy Location: Hocking Valley Community Hospital in Logan, OH
Schedule: This position offers up to 20 guaranteed hours per week with flexible scheduling. Shifts are scheduled during pharmacy operating hours, Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Review, verify, and dispense medication orders to ensure appropriateness, safety, and accuracy
  • Provide clinical pharmacy services, including medication therapy management and pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care teams to optimize medication regimens for hospitalized patients
  • Oversee sterile and non-sterile compounding activities, ensuring compliance with USP and hospital standards
  • Monitor patient outcomes and medication safety, identifying and preventing adverse drug events
  • Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and interns, ensuring efficient and compliant workflow
  • Ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance, including Joint Commission, state, and federal requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, or equivalent pharmacy degree
  • Active Ohio pharmacist license in good standing, or eligibility to obtain Ohio pharmacist licensure by the start date

Preferred Qualification:
  • 3+ months of hospital pharmacy experience

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $44.00 - $79.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
