The Staff Engineer at CertifID will serve as a Tech Lead, working closely with our Engineering Manager and Product Managers, to deliver high-quality work across our team's various projects and feature development initiatives. The ideal candidate will be able to guide our product and systems to ensure we manage platform scaling, implement best practices, and guide the engineering team towards excellence. This is not a people management role, but it is a role that should be influential in how we work and how we improve as engineers.
We are searching for someone who brings fresh ideas, demonstrates a unique and informed viewpoint, and enjoys collaborating with a cross-functional team to develop real-world solutions and positive user experiences in a healthy and rapid development environment at every interaction.
While we have many exciting opportunities ahead of us, a few initiatives this role would be working on would be expanding our product as a platform and implementing the next generation of our data-driven fraud prevention model. We will be leaning heavily on this engineering role to lead our system architecture and development in these areas, which would incorporate system architecture, API design, data engineering, and general mentorship and development of our engineering team.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality work following best practices, such as adequate testing, successful rollout, and consistent monitoring.
- Propose short-term and long-term solutions for pain points in the system or product with clear deliverables and next steps.
- Lead projects with teams of engineers, while also managing the communication around them. Provide context and technical specifications, document processes, and technical direction to support the engineering team and the business.
- Provide coaching and mentoring, through best practices, with other engineers, and help them acquire new skills and competencies.
- Self-manage day-to-day activities while ensuring that your priorities are aligned with engineering and product objectives and priorities.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 8+ Years of Software Engineering
- Strong communication, task management, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrable background leading projects and feature development in a SaaS startup.
- Experience as a Staff Engineer or Senior Engineer with proven expertise to move into a Staff Engineer position.
- Experience with security-focused projects and feature development.
- Expertise in C#, Java, C++, or similar language(s).
- Experience working with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP.Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, and release management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in C# and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with Azure and Azure products.
- Experience working in Agile and with product-oriented teams.
