Job Description:
 

Senior Workday Systems Analyst 

This position does not offer relocation assistance. Candidates must reside within commuting distance of our Palo Alto office.

Position Summary

The Senior Workday Systems Analyst is a hands-on functional business partner responsible for supporting, configuring, and improving the Workday platform. This role works closely with HR, Finance, IT, and other stakeholders to analyze business requirements, recommend scalable solutions, and provide reliable production support. 

The ideal candidate can evaluate business requirements, document sustainable business processes, configure Workday, troubleshoot system issues, build reports, and create calculated fields. 

Key Responsibilities:

Workday Configuration and Functional Support 

  • Configure, maintain, and support Workday HCM worker lifecycle events, organizations, job management staffing model, work structures, and related foundational data. 

  • Support Workday Recruiting configuration and processes requisitions, candidate workflows, offers, hiring, and scheduling tool. 

  • Configure and support Compensation compensation plans, eligibility rules, compensation review processes/comp tool, validations, and statements. 

  • Support Performance and Talent processes goals, performance reviews, calibration, talent reviews, templates, notifications, and dashboards. 

  • Configure and support Absence and Time Trackingincluding plans, eligibility, accruals, time entry, validations, approvals, and issue resolution. 

  • Own the analysis and resolution of Workday production issues, including root-cause analysis, configuration fixes, testing, stakeholder communication, and appropriate documentation. 

  • Partner with HR and business stakeholders to analyze requirements, evaluate solution options, and recommend scalable Workday solutions aligned with business processes, system capabilities, and governance standards. 

Business Processes and Security 

  • Configure and maintain Workday business processes steps, approvals, condition rules, validations, notifications, and security policies. 

  • Administer role-based, user-based, and organization-based security groups. 

  • Establish cadence for system security reviews, segregation-of-duties, and data integrity. 

  • Support Workday governance by maintaining configuration standards, documentation, change controls, naming conventions, and appropriate system access. 

  • Conduct downstream impact analysis before implementing configuration, business process, security, or data changes. 

Reporting, Calculated Fields, and Data 

  • Design, build, and maintain Workday custom reportsadvanced, matrix, and trending. 

  • Create and troubleshoot calculated fields. 

  • Establish and execute recurring data audits and reconciliations across Workday and integrated third-party systems to identify and resolve data integrity issues. 

  • Configure and maintain Workday Hubs, dashboards, and other self-service tools. 

  • Perform mass data changes using Workday EIBs. 

  • Monitor and support Workday integrations with third-party systems; troubleshoot data and integration issues and partner with IT, vendors, and integration resources through resolution. 

Testing, Releases, and Continuous Improvement 

  • Lead requirements gathering, configuration, testing, roll-out, and post-production support. 

  • Review bi-annual releases, recommend new feature adoption, and lead testing. 

  • Maintain system setup documentation, test scripts, and user guides. 

  • Provide training and knowledge transfer to HR users and support partners. 

  • Partner with Workday, third-party vendors, and external consultants to troubleshoot issues, implement enhancements, and ensure solutions meet business and technical requirements. 

Required Qualifications: 

  • BS in Human Resources or Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience. 

  • 5+ years of HRIS/HR technology experience, including 3+ years of hands-on Workday configuration and production support experience in a complex environment. 

  • Strong configuration experience in Workday HCM, Recruiting, and Advanced Comp, with experience in several additional areas, including Core Compensation, Performance, Talent, Absence, and Time Tracking.   

  • Experience with EIB data loads. 

  • Strong experience configuring Workday business processes, building custom reports, and calculated fields. 

  • Experience gathering requirements, designing solutions, testing changes, troubleshooting issues, and supporting production deployments. 

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills, with careful attention to data accuracy and controls. 

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively with technical and functional stakeholders. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Workday certifications or formal training in one or more relevant functional areas. 

  • Experience supporting Workday in a global or multi-country environment. 

  • Experience supporting Workday integrations and working with technical teams or vendors to resolve integration issues. 

  • Understanding of HR data privacy, audit controls, and change management. 

  • Experience supporting semiannual Workday releases. 

  • Familiar with scheduling tools like Paradox, Rooster, or other similar tools. 


 


Hiring Pay Range:

$131,400 - $164,300
