We believe that mental health is just as important as physical health. We recognize that mental health issues can be complex and multifaceted, and we are dedicated to treating the whole person, not just the symptoms.
We aim to create a world where mental health is no longer stigmatized or marginalized, but rather is embraced as an integral part of one's overall well-being.
We believe that by providing quality care that is both evidence-based and compassionate, we can empower individuals to take charge of their mental health and achieve their full potential. We are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of those struggling with mental health issues and we strive to be a force for positive change in the field of mental healthcare.
Rula is a remote-first company. We currently hire in most U.S. states, with the exception of Hawaii.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior User Experience Researcher (Sr. UXR) to help us deeply understand the needs, motivations, and challenges of patients and providers, and translate those insights into product experiences that make mental health care easier to access.
In this role, you will lead end-to-end research initiatives that inform product strategy and improve various workflows across Rula. You’ll partner closely with Product, Design, Engineering, and Data teams to ensure decisions are grounded in meaningful user insights and behavioral data.
Beyond executing studies, you will help shape how research influences product development at Rula by identifying high-impact research opportunities, defining research roadmaps, and turning signals from users, product analytics, and feedback into insights that guide product direction.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, enjoys solving complex human problems, and is excited about using research to improve how people connect with mental health care.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of User Research experience with demonstrated success of building and scaling B2B SaaS, productivity tools, or operations platforms, with a clear track record of driving measurable impact in user retention, workflow efficiency, or task automation.
The ability to frame ambiguous product questions into clear, decision-oriented research plans. Experience connecting research questions directly to "build / don’t build / what to build" decisions. Experience conducting research with audiences in a multi-sided marketplace, such as consumers and professionals
The capacity to balance speed, rigor, and product constraints, such as proposing realistic research plans for a one-month timeline.
Experience influencing product strategy through research
Experience collaborating with PM, Design, Analytics, and other partners. This includes aligning with PMs on decisions and risks, challenging product direction constructively, and translating insights into design principles.
Preferred Qualifications
While having the preferred qualifications enhances your candidacy, having all of them is not mandatory. We encourage all interested applicants to apply, even those who may not meet every preferred requirement.
Experience conducting research with audiences in a multi-sided marketplace, such as consumers and professionals
Has conducted research across multiple connected product surfaces, such as mobile and web
Past work with internal clinical, support, operations, or other expert teams
Healthcare, mental health, or another sensitive product area exposure and experience
