This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys research, thrives on solving difficult hiring challenges, and wants to help build a company from the ground up.

What You'll Do
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for highly technical roles across teams

  • Build targeted searches that identify exceptional technical talent across multiple industries and research communities

  • Research, identify, and engage passive candidates through highly personalized outreach

  • Partner closely with recruiters and hiring managers to understand technical requirements, hiring priorities, and market dynamics

  • Translate complex or evolving role requirements into effective sourcing strategies

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with high-potential candidates

  • Conduct talent mapping, competitive intelligence, and market research to inform hiring strategies

  • Continuously improve sourcing methodologies, tooling, and recruiting processes

  • Track sourcing metrics and provide market insights to recruiting leaders and hiring managers

  • Represent Mariana Minerals through a thoughtful and engaging candidate experience

  • Help shape and strengthen Mariana Minerals' employer brand and technical talent narrative

  • Stay current on sourcing technology, AI-assisted sourcing tools, and emerging channels to reach specialized technical talent

  • Build diverse, high-quality candidate pipelines for hard-to-fill and highly specialized roles

Desired Qualifications
  • 5-8+ years of experience sourcing technical talent in a high-growth startup or technology company

  • Expert in utilizing ATS tools (preference for Ashby)

  • Strong expertise with LinkedIn Recruiter, sourcing tools, Boolean search, Indeed, GitHub, research platforms, and other creative sourcing techniques

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and engage passive candidates for difficult-to-fill technical roles

  • Experience partnering directly with engineering leaders and hiring managers

  • Excellent research skills with the ability to understand technical domains and evaluate technical talent

  • Strong written communication skills with experience crafting personalized candidate outreach

  • Ability to manage multiple searches simultaneously while maintaining a high quality bar

  • Data-driven approach to sourcing strategy and pipeline management

  • Strong closing and negotiating skills

  • High ownership mindset with the ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments

  • Passion for building exceptional teams and creating outstanding candidate experiences

Nice to Have
  • Prior experience recruiting for hardware, robotics, industrial automation, or deep tech companies

  • Experience sourcing for niche or emerging technical disciplines (e.g., materials science, controls engineering, applied AI/ML)

  • Familiarity with early-stage or seed-to-Series B recruiting environments

  • Experience building a sourcing function or playbook from scratch

Our culture is built on four principles:

Everyone Gets Home Safe. We never put speed or cost ahead of people.

Extreme Ownership. We take full responsibility for outcomes, relentlessly driving toward solutions.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
