This is a highly technical and visible product management role focused on the strategy and execution of H1’s external data feeds and API products. You will own the roadmap for external data delivery and ensure seamless integration between our platform and customer ecosystems. This includes working cross-functionally to design tools and processes that support scalable data ingestion, mapping, validation, and monitoring.

You’ll also serve as a key partner to Engineering, helping define interface schemas, data dictionaries, and system workflows to ensure technical feasibility and long-term maintainability. You’ll play a central role in aligning product design with real-world customer data workflows, driving both near-term execution and long-term platform extensibility.

WHAT YOU'LL DO AT H1
As a Senior Technical Product Manager for data feeds and partnerships, you’ll operate in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment with significant exposure across teams. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering, customer success, and data SME, offering the opportunity to shape high-impact solutions used across therapeutic areas and geographies.

You will:
- Lead Scrum meetings including daily standups, backlog grooming, and sprint planning
- Manage and prioritize the product backlog for data feeds and external API integrations across multiple partners and customer types
- Define and contribute to technical product specifications, including API contracts, ERDs, interface schemas, and data dictionaries in collaboration with Engineering
- Translate customer data workflow requirements into scalable, extensible product solutions
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders across Customer Success, Implementations, Strategic Insights, and - Data Engineering to ensure technical and business alignment
- Act as a liaison between platform engineering and downstream data consumers to mitigate risk and ensure continuity
- Communicate the impact of platform or product changes clearly to internal and external stakeholders
- Investigate and resolve high-priority data and integration issues in real-time
- Run ad hoc analyses and validate data quality using SQL and Python
- Drive insights from fill rate analysis and other key metrics to guide product decisions
- Support the long-term strategy for data extensibility, including schema evolution, reusability, and self-service delivery tooling
- Demonstrate a system-level understanding of latency, throughput, and scale in partnership with Engineering (without owning architecture)

ABOUT YOU
You are a seasoned enterprise product manager with deep experience in SaaS, data products, and API integrations, ideally with exposure to Clinical Operations, life sciences or similarly complex, regulated data intensive domains. You bring a strong technical foundation and are confident partnering with engineering teams to shape scalable, performant, and user-friendly solutions.

- You thrive in ambiguity and are energized by solving complex, cross-functional challenges. Whether you’re building a must-have feature, improving a product metric, or influencing long-term strategy, you bring a thoughtful and outcomes-driven approach to your work.
- You balance high-level strategy with hands-on execution; defining product vision one moment and unblocking a Jira ticket or debugging data in SQL the next.
- You are deeply customer-centric, translating real-world use cases and workflows into elegant product solutions.
- You value the how as much as the what, and you invest in the growth and success of your teammates as much as your roadmap.

REQUIREMENTS
-6+ years of product management experience with a focus on data products, APIs, or enterprise SaaS
- Strong fluency in SQL and Python for data validation, analysis, and troubleshooting
- Experience designing and documenting APIs (e.g., OpenAPI/Swagger), with knowledge of versioning and developer experience best practices
- Strong understanding of data integration concepts such as ETL, schema mapping, and structured data formats (e.g., JSON, CSV, Parquet)
- Hands-on experience using Jira, Google Sheets, and Excel to manage product work and triage technical issues
- Familiarity with service-based architecture, data pipelines, and system performance considerations (e.g., latency, throughput, integrity)

COMPENSATION
This role pays $130,000 to $155,000 per year, based on experience, in addition to stock options.

Anticipated role close date: 8/20/2025

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
