Overview

This positions provides white glove support to our premium service client base in the Financial Market Line of business.
You will be working with a team of Engineers responsible for assisting customers with gathering server and OS (primarily linux) requirements, building servers and deploying them to datacenters across the world. In addition, this position will supports both server hardware and Linux OSs in the field and be proactive about alerting the customer to potential server performance issues and recommending / implementing solutions.

Responsibilities

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Engage with clients regarding new server/service implementations, as well as plan and execute the delivery of these requests
  • Act as primary contact for client representatives for support-related incidents and scheduled check-in meetings
  • Perform support and maintenance on an as-needed basis outside of normal office hours
  • Build and deploy new systems for customers
  • Continuously improve the tools and processes related to creation, deployment and support/monitoring of customer servers
  • Document all client requests, with step-by-step instructions for the implemented solution

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years’ experience managing Unix-like systems (Red Hat, CentOS preferred)

  • Demonstrated skills in decision making/judgement and initiative

  • Excellent technical writing skills required

  • Capable of working both independently and within a team

  • Experience with common Linux programming/scripting languages.  Python strongly preferred.

  • Good experience with various servers and manufacturers (Dell, HP, Supermicro)

  • Understanding of filesystems, volume managers, raid concepts. (ZFS, LVM, MD, XFS, EXT4)

  • Experience with forensic applications (e.g. Sysdig, Auditd, Wireshark, ELK stack), and deep analysis into performance-related issues

  • Advanced understanding of network concepts, particularly VLANS, multicast, and static routing

  • For this role, we anticipate paying $110,000K - $125,000K annually. Any compensation range provided for a role is an estimate determined by available market data. The actual amount may be higher or lower than the range provided considering each candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location.   • Experience with an automation engine, such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef

Optional Desired Qualifications:

  • Ansible experience strongly preferred

  • Ubuntu, KVM, OpenStack, Docker, Kubernetes experience preferred

  • Exposure to other facets of IT (Information Technology) helpful

  • Familiarity with audited environments preferred

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required

  • ITIL certification preferred
