We're seeking a seasoned technical leader to guide the development of modeling and simulation tools for performance requirements analysis across complex mission architectures in the space, air, and ground domains. As a Technical Lead, you'll play a key role in shaping the technical direction of our team and driving innovation in our systems engineering efforts.

The Engineering, Science and Analysis (ESA) Strategic Capabilities Unit comprises the technical talent and organizational leadership that enables the successful delivery of high-impact discriminating technologies for our customers' missions. What You'll Do:
  • As a Technical Lead on our team, you'll work under the supervision of our Portfolio Performance Lead to lead the development of modeling and simulation tools and algorithms for mission systems analysis.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to inform architecture, system, and component requirements. Your technical expertise and leadership skills will help drive project success and shape the future of our business.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of systems engineers and analysts.
  • Develop and apply new tools and algorithms for mission systems modeling and data analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to inform architecture, system, and component requirements.
  • Present technical results and recommendations to peers, management, and customers.
  • Support new business initiatives through proposal writing and cost/schedule estimation
  • Foster a culture of innovation, integrity, and continual learning within the team.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions:
  • Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.
  • May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
  • May access other facilities in various weather conditions.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 10 or more years related experience.
  • Each higher-level related degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of related experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
  • A current, active TS/SCI security clearance is required.
  • Experience with Python programming and a familiarity with Linux systems. Training for other packages may be provided as needed.
  • Experience with space systems and orbital dynamics.
  • A working understanding of signal processing concepts and basic physics across the electromagnetic spectrum.
  • 5+ years of experience in a technical leadership role, preferably in systems engineering or a related field.
  • Solid technical expertise in modeling and simulation, systems engineering, and data analysis.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience with proposal writing and cost/schedule estimation.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Technical Certifications: Holding relevant technical certifications, such as:
    + Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
    + Specialized tools and software (STK, AFSIM)
  • Industry Experience: Proven experience leading Modeling and Simulation teams in the aerospace and defense industry, with a strong understanding of the unique challenges and requirements of this sector.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $146670 - $249330
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
