Come and join an exciting team that's on a mission to transform the content and user experience by building compelling videos, use case based “gold standard” content, in-app guides, and more. 

As the Sr. Staff Content Strategist at Illumio, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the future of the Information Development team. We’re a small but mighty team of five content developers whose mission is to deliver the right content to the right audience at the right time. We’re risk takers, eager to embrace innovation so that we can deliver content journeys that will keep our users coming back for more.    

Leveraging your experience with generative AI, you will help lead the content strategy for the team, recommend ways to use AI to build relevant content efficiently, and build in-app learning content using videos and other forms of communication. As a thought leader and expert in content strategy and information architecture, you will influence the team's content transformation agenda.  

Demonstrate thought leadership through storytelling using multi-media such as (but not limited to) in-app guidance, videos, animated GIFs, and interactive tutorials. 

Content Strategy 

• Leverage your content strategy skills to establish criteria to build and deliver “gold standard” content that is the envy of our competitors. As part of your content strategy plan, conduct quarterly content audits to identify and address content gaps.  

• Create a content mapping plan that allows you build targeted use case content based on user personas. Roll out the plan to the content team and cross-functional stakeholders. 

• Hit the ground running by bringing your XML and CMS expertise to build content that can be delivered in multiple ways, depending on the needs of your audience. Recommend content reuse strategies and other ways of increasing content efficiency in the group. 

• Use data-driven insights such as Google Analytics to inform and influence the future roadmap of the content transformation journey. 

• Be adept at information architecture principles and implement best practices to shape the content set and mentor the team.  

• Share your expertise in AI to increase the effectiveness and speed of content delivery in an agile environment where releases happen daily. 

• Be an expert in information architecture for cloud products. 

Customer Focus 

• Be laser focused on customer needs, addressing their feedback in a timely manner.  

• Reduce technical content debt by addressing content gaps because content maintenance is an important part of the content transformation journey. 

• Track SEO results weekly to see how to improve the findability of content for customers. 

• Influence the design of the UI by recommending simplified workflows, user friendly UI labels, and other UI/content improvements to increase product adoption.  

Mentorship 

• Mentor other writers and lead multi-media workshops to grow and expand the skills of the team. 

Collaboration 

• Partner and align closely with UX, Engineering, and Product teams to ensure a cohesive approach to building and delivering on-time, multi-media content. 

Your Toolkit:

• 15+ years of experience in digital content publishing and content strategy (for example, in-product app guidance, video or tutorial development), or experience in a writing or editing role in an enterprise software or security company. 

• 1+ years of experience using generative AI to build content development solutions. 

• Bachelor's degree in digital content publishing/management, technical writing, communications or equivalent experience. 

• Proficient in authoring and maintaining content in content management systems such as Paligo, Heretto, or another CMS. 

• Advanced user of Camtasia or other video editing tools, hands-on experience. 

• Writing samples and samples of video projects required.

• Exceptional communication, collaboration, and project management skills. 

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing, agile environment. 

• An expert at context shifting, able to juggle multiple projects at one time. 

• Proficient using Atlassian (Confluence, JIRA). 

• Familiar building content in an agile environment. 

Compensation:

$167,000 USD - $200,000 USD

The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include responsibilities of the job, education, location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and internal equity, alignment with market data, or applicable laws.
