Position Summary:  

The Senior Software Engineer is a key player on a development team, using an Agile development model in a fast-paced and innovative environment. The Sr Software Engineer is responsible for providing technical guidance and mentorship to the team, is recognized as an expert within their domain, and effectively communicates cross-squad and disciplines to solve problems and resolve technical issues. 

Essential Job Functions:  
  • Significantly contributes to medium to large feature releases and is recognized for high quality, impactful technical contributions 
  • Contributes to defining technical direction, planning, and providing constructive feedback to ensure the team’s success 
  • Team player and strong communicator, driving collaboration with designers, developers, and other relevant partners or clients 
  • Provides recommendation toward development of new code, redesign, or reuse of existing code 
  • Mentors multiple team members and lifts the skill set, technical expertise of those around them 
  • Has deep technical knowledge to understand the pros/cons of different system designs, implementations, and frameworks 
  • Improves code structure and architecture in service of testability and maintainability 
  • Considered an expert by peers and is recognized for high quality and quantity of hands-on technical contributions 
  • Collaborates and effectively communicates cross-squads, domains, and disciplines to solve problems and resolve technical issues 
  • Independently develops document, and maintain features using Angular, Web components, StencilJS, TypeScript, Sass and other technologies with guidance from more experienced engineers 
  • Independently Develop, document, and enhance API endpoints using Node.js or C#, .NET/.NET core, AWS lambda, serverless, API Gateway and SQL. Using frameworks like Entity Framework Core, working with IDE's such as Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code 
  • Implement CI/CD pipeline for automated distribution of applications using Docker, Kubernetes, Gitlab CI, and Argo CD. 
  • Implements code that is clear, concise, tested, and easily understood by others 
  • Is responsible for the entire lifecycle of their code: development, test, production, and subsequent fixes and improvements 
  • Independently performs code reviews that follow Truckstop's published standards and practices and that are recognized by their team as helpful 
  • Improves the development experience at Truckstop by enhancing development tools, test coverage, and/or code structure 
  • Other duties as assigned or needed 
Position Requirements:  
  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline with minimum of 6 years of related experience 
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented principles and software design pattern 
  • Proficient in developing responsive web apps usingHTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript 
  • Solid knowledge of modern front-end JS frameworks and libraries specifically Angular, StencilJS 
  • Experience with C#, Asp.Net/Asp.Net core, Entity framework 
  • Deep functional knowledge or hands on experience working with Web Services such as REST 
  • Experience writing Ad-Hoc SQL queries, Transactional Queries, and Stored Procedures 
  • Experience with TDD and JS testing frameworks like Jest/Karma, Protractor/Cypress/Selenium 
  • Experience using CSS preprocessors such as SASS 
  • Experience integrating apps with RESTful API’s or GraphQL 
  • Experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or other cloud services a plus 
  • Experience with API development using Node.js or Asp.net core, AWS lambda, serverless, API Gateway a plus 
  • Proactively influence squad communication and team dynamics to accomplish the tactical mission of the squad 
  • Collaborates with others across squads to remove impediments and blockers 
  • Strong debugging and diagnostic skills 
  • Design solutions that align with business and IT strategies and comply with the organization's architectural standards 
  • Able to articulate complex technical topics to non-technical audiences 
  • Skilled at clearly documenting design and concept ideas 
  • Skilled at providing and receiving feedback at all levels across the organization

In an effort to provide greater transparency, we are sharing the base salary range for this position. The position is also eligible for a yearly bonus. Final salary is based on a number of factors including market location, job-related knowledge, education/training, certifications, key skills, experience, internal peer equity as well as business considerations.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$116,000$145,000 USD

The above description covers the most significant duties performed but does not include other related occasional work that may be assigned or is completed by the employee.
