The Impact of a Senior Salesforce Architect at Coupa:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Salesforce Solution Architect to lead the design and evolution of our global Salesforce. This is a high-impact role requiring a mastery of the Salesforce platform to bridge the gap between complex business requirements and elegant, scalable technical solutions.

The Senior Salesforce Solution Architect will be responsible for designing and implementing Salesforce solutions to solve complex business problems. You will own the end- to-end blueprint for our lead-to-cash and service-to-retention lifecycles and serve as both a strategic thought partner and a hands-on architect, ensuring our internal Salesforce platform evolves in step with our growth and future.

What You'll Do:

  • Strategic Solution Design: Transform high-level business requirements into comprehensive end-to-end technical architectures that align with business outcomes.
  • Decision Articulation: Present multiple architectural options to stakeholders, clearly outlining the pros, cons, and long-term implications of each to drive informed decision-making.
  • Technical Stewardship: Champion a "configuration-first" approach to minimize custom code and technical debt, ensuring the environment remains agile and maintainable.
  • Customization and Configuration: Be a hands on architect customizing and configuring Salesforce applications and integrations to meet specific business needs as needed.
  • Governance & Standards: Establish and enforce best practices for integration, data security, and development lifecycle (DevOps)
  • Agentic Architecture: Design and implement Salesforce Agentforce and Einstein solutions that don't just automate tasks, but autonomously solve customer and employee problems.
  • Data Readiness for AI: Ensure the underlying data architecture is "AI-ready" by enforcing strict data hygiene, grounding strategies, and ethical data usage standards.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as the bridge between business units and the technical team, ensuring that "what was asked for" solves "what was needed"
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize the performance of Salesforce solutions to ensure scalability and reliability.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of solutions, including Solution design, architecture diagrams, data models, and integration specifications.

What You Will Bring to Coupa:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Deep Platform Expertise: 10+ years of experience within the Salesforce ecosystem, at least 4+ years as a Salesforce Solution architect with a proven track record of architecting solutions that span multiple clouds (Sales, Service, and Experience).
  • CPQ: Hands-on experience with at least two enterprise-level Salesforce CPQ implementations. You understand the nuances of Price Rules, Product Rules, and Quote Line Editor customizations.
  • Systemic Thinking: An "Architect’s Mindset"—the ability to see how a change in a Service Cloud workflow might impact a Sales Cloud opportunity or a Partner portal view.
  • Technical Skillset: Proficiency in Salesforce Flow, Apex, and LWC, alongside a strong understanding of Salesforce security models, sharing rules, and Shield.
  • AI & Data: Hands-on experience with Agentforce, Einstein Copilot/Agents. Experience with data migrations into and out of Salesforce.
  • Integrations: Experience with Salesforce Integration patterns and technologies (eg: REST API, SOAP API, Workato, Middleware solutions, Managed packages)
  • Collaborative Spirit: The ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, translating "business speak" into "technical requirements"; and vice versa.
  • Credentials: Certifications such as Salesforce Application Architect or System Architect. Specialized certifications in CPQ or Experience Cloud are a significant plus

The estimated pay range for this role is $128,000 - 166,500.

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
