FreeWheel, a Comcast company, provides comprehensive ad platforms for publishers, advertisers, and media buyers. Powered by premium video content, robust data, and advanced technology, we're making it easier for buyers and sellers to transact across all screens, data types, and sales channels. As a global company, we have offices in nine countries and can insert advertisements around the world.
Job Summary
About the Role You'll own revenue growth for Buyer Cloud, FreeWheel's demand-side platform, across a portfolio of major agency holding companies and Fortune 500 brand-direct accounts. On the agency side, you'll work closely with trading desk and agency leadership to expand how much programmatic spend runs through Buyer Cloud. On the brand-direct side, you'll build and manage relationships with in-house marketing and media teams at large advertisers evaluating or scaling their own DSP usage. The mix of accounts you manage may shift over time as our broader go-to-market strategy evolves, so we're looking for someone who can move fluidly across both agency and brand-direct sales motions rather than someone wedded to a single type of account. This is a senior seller role that occasionally touches technical territory: you may be asked to speak to integration questions, including Buyer Cloud's MCP server and programmatic API capabilities, so comfort in those conversations (not hands-on platform or trading experience) is helpful. You'll partner closely with Agency Partnerships, Product, and Product/Sales Marketing to shape go-to-market strategy and deliver a best-in-class client experience.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
What You'll Do
  • Own key accounts across agency and brand-direct. Serve as the primary revenue owner for a portfolio of major agency holding company relationships and Fortune 500 brand-direct accounts, translating signed agreements and new opportunities into active, growing platform usage.
  • Drive growth broadly. Win new advertisers and campaigns across both agency and brand-direct segments, while expanding existing relationships across your portfolio.
  • Navigate technical conversations. Comfortably engage technical stakeholders - at agencies and brands alike - on integration questions involving Buyer Cloud's MCP server and programmatic APIs, looping in Product as needed to represent client needs.
  • Build senior influence. Develop trusted partnerships with senior stakeholders - both media and technical - at major agency holding companies and Fortune 500 brands.
  • Lead strategically. Respond to RFPs and new business opportunities with precision, crafting winning strategies grounded in platform capability.
  • Be a product expert. Master the FreeWheel portfolio, including Buyer Cloud and the broader programmatic software suite, well enough to speak credibly to both commercial and technical audiences.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally. Work closely with Agency Partnerships, Product, Product Marketing and Sales Marketing to refine positioning and unblock deals.
  • Exceed targets. Consistently meet and surpass revenue goals through strategic, consultative selling.

Who You Are
  • 10+ years in biddable media / DSP sales, with a demonstrated book of business spanning agency holding-company trading desks and/or Fortune 500 brand-direct advertisers.
  • Existing relationships with major agency holding companies and/or Fortune 500 brand-direct advertisers are required (e.g., Omnicom, Publicis, WPP, Dentsu, Havas, Stagwell, or large in-house brand media teams); relationships at Publicis and Omnicom are especially preferred, and breadth across multiple accounts is a strong plus.
  • Comfortable in technical conversations - you don't need to write code or have hands-on platform/trading experience, but you can hold your own discussing APIs, data connectivity, or platform architecture with an agency's or brand's engineering team.
  • A strategic thinker with a consultative approach and a track record of exceeding revenue targets in a complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycle.
  • A self-starter who takes full ownership of client outcomes in a fast-paced, evolving environment

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
